Michael Yu is a writer/director from Hong Kong based in Los Angeles.

Formerly of RISE Entertainment (an independent studio from the ex Head of HBO Asia), Michael focuses on drama, comedy and action work centring on the tension between the East and the West.

His work has won awards at the 48 Hour Film Project and been screened at the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive. He was a juror at the 48th Asian American International Film Festival.

Currently, he is in post-production for GONG GONG, a Kung Fu action comedy short film, whilst developing his first feature.
