Mecal Pro, the Barcelona International Short and Animation Film Festival, will celebrate its 21st edition this year. With more than 5,000 short films submitted annually, Mecal has become one of the most important festivals of its field in Spain. It's a fun festival to attend as a filmmaker, even if you don't speak Spanish (or Catalan). Lots of networking and social activities organized by the staff, which was great! And there was a quality selection of animated films being screened.
    Definitely recommended.

  • Mecal is a wonderful festival. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to attend the my screening but all throughout, the communication with the festival directors was great and the selection of films was fantastic! I was very happy that my animated stop-motion short "Meeting MacGuffin " was selected. I highly recommend this festival and will submit again.
