| LIL' SPOOKY FEST (imdb qualifying)

We are a quirky, avant-garde, horror, dark comedy or drama/suspense-centric film festival that happens the first Saturday every October. Music videos and live music open the evening, along with a variety of entertainers, hosts, and networking amongst the filmmaker community.

We know there are millions of festivals to submit to, as well as, the hard work that goes into making films or writing scripts. We strive to highlight that passion, ambition, and skill. We're filmmakers ourselves, after all! Submit and support local filmmakers! We're small, indie, and weird - however the event goes, you're going to at least remember it, and we grow larger every year.

We accept films of all types from experimental to live-action to 2d, 3d, or stop motion animation. If you made it, we want to see it!

Rules & Terms

| You must own the rights or have permission from the owner.
| You can resubmit if you weren't selected in prior years.
| Films can be any length, although shorter ones are easier to program.
| Scripts can be any length.
| All fees are non-refundable unless your project wins it back.
| We do not require premiere status and mind if your film is available online.
| Multiple submissions are accepted. One per submission fee.
| Projects have no completion year requirement.
| Foreign films must have English subtitles, if there's dialogue.
| No adult films. Nudity is allowed though.
| NOT ALL SUBMISSIONS WILL BE SELECTED.
| We love you.
| Submitting your project, you authorize lil' spooky fest and lil' baker films to use, distribute and share the project's poster, trailer, synopsis and/or materials to help promote the festival in any capacity.

    I gave the festival four stars in communication because they have been responding to my emails. No stars on hospitality and networking because I did not have the opportunity to attend personally and therefore cannot assess those points. I give them one star on Overall Rating because my film was awarded Quarterfinalist (which made us all very proud) and is the average of the two sections that I can objectively assess. And 1 star for Value because although the festival claims to be (and is listed) in IMDb, it is impossible to claim the award in their IMDb page as they don’t have official listings in their page against which IMDb can validate. I wrote a festival a couple of emails. Here I quote their last response: "It may take a second to update our website. Plus, we only list official selections and award winners on our website. We don't nor haven't listed any type of finalist on our website that didn't make it in as a selection." Which apparently implies that my film advanced to Quarterfinalist without being officially selected? An absurd implication, because if that were the case, I couldn't be writing this review as non-selected filmmakers don’t have access to reviewing festivals here. Update, just confirmed that in their logic, quarter, semi and finalist means "not-selected", so I am changing my review to one star.
