I’m originally from Texas, where I went to Rice University (BA Visual & Dramatic Arts, 2011) and then moved to Boston to attend graduate school at Boston University College of Communication (MFA Film Production, 2014)
My work has screened at festivals in Los Angeles, Houston, Beijing, Chicago, Montreal, Rhode Island, and Boston. DREAMERS, my graduate thesis film, was a regional winner and national finalist for the 2014 Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ 41st Student Academy Awards, and won the Grand Remi for Best Student Film at the 48th WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival.
When I’m not directing, I’m working in every other available capacity on set. I produced LISTENERS (2016, dir. Sara Xavery Robin), a sci-fi short that won 2nd Place overall, Best Sound Design, and Best Cinematography at the 2016 Redstone Film Festival in Boston. I was the colorist for BORDERLINE (2017, dir. Emily Sheehan), which swept the 2017 Redstone Film Festival in Los Angeles, screened at the 2017 Festival de Cannes, and was the juried Student Shorts winner at the 2017 Independent Film Festival Boston. I was also the sound recordist for the Boston portion of the 11/8/16 election documentary (2017, dir. Jeff Deutchman), and directed, edited, and sound designed my most recent short, BLOOD HIGHWAY, a 16mm grindhouse action/horror short that I’m currently entering into festivals.
I’m a co-founder and managing member of Auspicious Phoenix Productions, and oversee operations for the company and its Somerville studio.
I love traveling, good food, a thick historical book, and photography. When I’m not doing filmmaking I’m usually asleep.
