The International Sports Film Festival (ISFF) is a revolutionary initiative in the festival circuit taken up by the Federation of Film Societies of India (Estd.1959) Eastern Region in collaboration with the Social Sports Foundation Kolkata. So far three editions of the festival have taken place with huge success (1st) from 22 to 25 June 2023, (2nd) from 22 to 25 Feb 2024, and (3rd) from 10 to 15 Feb 2025, all at NANDAN- the Film Centre in Kolkata showcasing selected films on sports and adventure from all over the world. From 2nd edition, the festival became competitive with cash awards in different sections. From 3rd edition the festival is travelling to some other cities of India (viz. Siliguri, Shantiniketan, Delhi, Lucknow etc.) after the main festival in Kolkata, as Satellite Festivals, where some selected films will be screened without any competition. 4th edition of the festival will be held from 9 to 14 Feb 2026 at NANDAN- the Film Centre in Kolkata.

Eligibility:
* Fiction and Non-Fiction Films on Sports, Adventure, Mountaineering, Expeditions, Extreme Sports (maximum 120 mins) made after 1st January 2021 in any country of the world with English subtitles are eligible to apply.
* Films in Students Film Category should not be more than 60 minutes.
* Advertisement Films should not be more than 90 secs.
* Festival Committee will decide which films will be shown in competition section and which in non-competition section.
* One can submit more than one Entry, but separate submission forms should be filled up for each Entry with separate Entry Fee.
* Films already available in any platform are also eligible, no condition of premiere.
* Films submitted already in any previous edition of the ISFF are not eligible.
* Decision for selection of any film for competitive or non-competitive section or rejection of any film is the sole prerogative of the festival committee. No negotiation will be entertained in this respect.
* Any individual or organization holding the due ownership rights of the films can submit any number of entries.
* Download permission of a high resolution file should be given through FilmFreeway on request as final screener for the selected films.
* Festival authorities will have the right to screen any selected film (max. 08 screenings) in different cities of India on non-commercial basis.
* For promotional/publicity purposes, excerpts from any film (max. 60 secs) may be used on non-commercial basis.
* Legal jurisdiction: Calcutta High Court.

  • I was very excited and happy, Sayad Caploo's documentary won the award for the best non-fiction film in this festival, unfortunately, after the passage of time, I sent several emails, but they still did not respond from the festival as to how they will give me my award, I am waiting for your reply, I wish you the best
