"INTONATIONS" is a festival of students sound engineers short-films. It is held every year aiming at demonstration and evaluation of the students’ and professors’ creative achievements in Cinematography and Television.

1. The jury shall award the following prizes:
· Grand Prix (awarded to a Sound Engineer and creative team of the film (not more than 5 persons));
· Best Sound Solution in Feature Film;
· Best Sound Solution in a Documentary (Non-feature) Film;
· Best Sound Solution in Animated Film;
· Best Sound Design Debut;
· Best Musical Solution (awarded to the film Composer or Sound Engineer.

2. Special Awards:
· Special award named after Grigory Frank for the Authenticity of Sound Solution;
· Special award named after Boris Andreev for the Expressiveness of Sound Solution;
· Special award named after Elena Sladkovskaya for the Beauty and Sincerity of Intonations;
· Special award named after Aliakper Hasan-Zadeh for the Search of Ideal and its Fulfillment;
· Viewer’s Choice.

3. The jury has the right to nominate winners for additional categories.
If a prize-winner of the Festival has no opportunity to get his/her prize during the Closing ceremony, the prize can be given to the winner after the Festival in the Organizing Committee or can be given to a member of the creative team of the winning film.

4. If a Festival "INtonations" prizewinner is unable to receive their award at the closing ceremony, the prize can be collected by the author after the festival's conclusion at the Organizing Committee. The prize can also be presented to members of the winning film's creative team.

1. Submission of an application to participate in the Festival is carried out on the Festival's website: https://intonfest.ru

2. The Festival accepts feature, non-feature, television and animated short films made within educational process by students of professional film schools created during 2025-2026. Films must be fully completed before January 31, 2026.

3. Films submitted for the Festival should not contain propaganda of violence, national, racial or religious intolerance, or offence against moral feelings of a person.

4. Films submitted for the Festival should not contain information whose dissemination is prohibited by the legislation of the Russian Federation and obscene language.

5. The Festival does not accept films where distribution certificates have been refused based on grounds specified under subparagraphs “b” through “g” of paragraph 18 of the Rules for Issuing, Refusing to Issue and Revoking Distribution Certificates for Films approved by Government Decree No. 143 dated February 27, 2016 (“On Approval of Regulations for Issuing, Refusal to Issue and Revocation of Film Distribution Certificates and Regulations for Maintaining State Register of Films”) (which became invalid as of September 1, 2024 according to Government Decree No. 1020 dated July 26, 2024) (hereinafter referred to as Distribution Certificate Rules), or based on grounds indicated under subparagraphs “b” through “g” of paragraph 19 of the Procedure for Providing (Issuing) Distribution Certificates for Films, Refusal to Provide (Issue) Distribution Certificates for Films, Revocation of Distribution Certificates for Films and Amending Distribution Certificates for Films approved by Order No. 942 of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation dated May 21, 2024 (registered with the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation on May 27, 2024, registration number 78274).

6. The Festival considers films that did not take part in previous editions of the "INtonations" festival.

7. The Festival accepts no more than two films from one participant per nomination category.

8. Running time of the film should not exceed 30 minutes.

9. In the application form, the author provides mandatory information both in Russian and English languages:

9.1. Information about the film:

country of production;
year of production;
title of the film;
brief synopsis of the film;
poster, three frames from the film, trailer (if available);
9.2. Information about director and crew members, specifying name of educational institution, workshop name and course number;

9.3. Information about main cast performers;

9.4. Photos of director, sound engineer and composer;

9.5. Foreign films must be accompanied by Russian subtitles. Russian films must be accompanied by English subtitles.

10. If the film and accompanying materials are not provided within the stipulated period or if the copy of the film fails to meet technical requirements, the Organizing Committee of the Festival has the right to exclude the film from the competition program.

11. Time slot and placement of selected films in the competitive program will be determined by the Organizing Committee of the Festival.
