Héctor Hernández is a Mexican filmmaker based in Veracruz, working across fiction and documentary. His work explores memory, landscape, and identity through intimate, visually driven storytelling.
His short films include The Last Cherry Blossom (2022) and the documentary Echoes from the Blue Meadow (2023), supported by PECDA Veracruz. Echoes from the Blue Meadow has been selected and awarded at over 100 film festivals worldwide and was invited to screen at the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg by the Cultural Dialogues Forum (2025).
As a producer, he has worked on the stop-motion short film Emilia (2025), winner of the 5C Showcase for Best Animated Short Film, as well as music videos for the ska band La Inminente Sociedad. He is a co-founder of NO Films, programmer of Somos Niebla: Festival de Cine entre Montañas, and has served as a jury member at the Goya Film Festival in Argentina.
