International Legnano Film Festival - ILEFF

“A unique case in Italy” were the words of the great Umberto Eco describing Legnano in the mid'80 speaking of its cinemas and film clubs that fulfilled during the week the city's major theatres while in Milan that scene was dying.
Legnano and the cinema, a love story that starts from the amazing numbers of rooms who brought the city to life in the last century, paving the path that has lately seen Legnano become a principal centre of nightlife, socialization and culture.
Legnano historic and cultural city with its Palio, the biggest historic rapresentation in Europe.
Legnano city of music and shows with a major theatre billboard and the huge “Rugby Sound Festival” that has put it on the map of the biggest summer festivals.
From a century Legnano city of cinemas and belovers of the 7th art, the Volta, the Ratti, the Legnano theatre just restored to become Tirinnanzi theatre, the open air cinema in the market square after the war, the huge Galleria still one of the biggest room in the whole of Lombardia, the Golden and many more in the villages nearby, names that bring up memories and recount of an incredible journey of passion, entrepreneurship and social richness that's absolutely unique.

“Un caso unico in Italia” così il grande Umberto Eco descriveva Legnano a metà degli anni '80 parlando dei suoi cinema e delle sue rassegne per appassionati che riempivano in settimana i maggiori teatri della città proprio negli anni in cui a Milano i vari cineforum chiudevano i battenti.
Legnano e il cinema, una storia di passione che affonda le sue radici nell'incredibile numero di sale che hanno animato la città nel secolo scorso, tracciando quel solco che ha poi visto Legnano come città principe del divertimento, della socialità e della cultura.
Legnano città di storia e cultura con il suo Palio, la più grande rievocazione storica d'Europa.
Legnano città di musica e spettacolo con un'importante stagione teatrale ed il grande evento estivo del Rugby Sound Festival che l'ha proiettata nel circuito dei grandi music festival internazionali.
Da un secolo Legnano città di cinema e di appassionati della settima arte, il Volta, il Ratti, il teatro Legnano oggi ristrutturato e diventato teatro Tirinnanzi, il cinema all'aperto in piazza del mercato nel dopoguerra ed il grande cinema teatro Galleria tutt'ora uno dei maggiori teatri della Lombardia, il cinema Golden e altre sale in tutti i paesi limitrofi, nomi che evocano ricordi ma anche un percorso incredibile di passione, imprenditoria e ricchezza sociale davvero unico.
