Born and raised in Rio De Janeiro, Gabriela Ledesma began a career as an actress at the age of five. She worked with South America’s most prominent network, TV Globo, appearing in Soap Operas, theatre, and voiceover work until the age of sixteen when she moved to the United States. At nineteen, Gabriela enlisted in the U.S. Navy, and served for 5 years, after which she earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in filmmaking.
In 2014, Gabby’s short film, ‘Cutter’, was premiered at Portland Film Festival and Las Vegas Film Festival. The film was shot at a single location, with a budget of just 1K. Her second short film, ‘Anomic’, also with a budget of 1K won her Best Female Filmmaker award at Indie Fest.
Gabriela’s debut feature film ‘Blue’ has been selected and awarded at over twenty-five national and international festivals, including four nominations for Best Director. Other awards for ‘Blue’ include Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Screenplay, Best Editing, Best Music, and Best Feature. Gabriela will continue to travel with the film in 2018 as it makes its way through the festival circuit.
Gabriela is the CEO of Poison Pictures and currently lives in Studio City with her wife and daughter.
