The Film Festival of Love is a new five-day film festival launching this summer in Healdsburg, CA – the heart of California wine country. Across genres, cultures, and generations, this festival centers around films that explore love – as comedy, tragedy, rebellion, revelation, and everything in between. With contemporary voices and timeless classics, fiction and nonfiction, features and short films, here is a festival that breaks the mold to celebrate the beating heart of cinema.

Presented by True West Film Center, FFOL will take place in and around True West Cinemas in downtown Healdsburg, June 24-28, 2026.

Short Film Submissions - We are accepting open submissions for short films on the theme of love. Maximum run time is 30 minutes.

Feature Film Submissions - Features will be selected by invitation only. To be considered, email a pitch of 150 words or less by April 15, describing why your film is a perfect fit for the Film Festival of Love to: submissions@truewestfilmcenter.org

Student Filmmakers - College students (18+) may submit films to the Film Festival of Love, following the submissions protocol described above.

For student filmmakers enrolled in elementary, middle, or high school, please check out Fresh Takes: True West Student Film Festival. https://filmfreeway.com/twsff

It's impossible to say enough great things about this festival. Excellent communications and an incredible community of people that are so welcoming. Everything from start to finish was top-shelf. Honestly, it's probably the best festival I've been to.

  • We were so pleased to screen our film BY MY SIDE at the AVFest. The sold out venue with hardcore film viewers was super exciting. We were also grateful to have cast members, Veteran Emilio Gallegos and his service dog Samson, included on the panel. Mike Traina’s moderating was excellent. It was an honor to be on the program with the other talented filmmakers. Thank you !
