The San Luis Potosi International Film Festival (FICSLP) is calling for producers and filmmakers from Mexico, Ibero-America and other regions of the world to submit their films for its 11th edition, to be held from October 24 to 28, 2023.
OFFICIAL COMPETITION
Rules
The number of short films, feature films, audiovisual works and films that you can submit to the competition is unlimited.
- Your film must be original and unpublished, i.e. it must not have been produced before January 1, 2022.
- Your film cannot be a shortened or extended version of another film previously submitted to this festival.
- Employees or collaborators of FICSLP and/or Daguerrotipo A.C. are not eligible to participate in the competition.
We are not private investigators, but if the FILM does not comply with any of these points, we are afraid it will have to be disqualified, do not take any risk and comply with these rules. Likewise, we reiterate that no preferential treatment will be given or works of known and/or local filmmakers that do not comply with the requirements and rules will be accepted to the contest.
- Your film can last from 00:30 to 30 minutes in short film version, in feature film from 60 to 180 minutes with CREDITS INCLUDED, the exhibition formats are digital extension .MKV, MOV or .MP4, as well as BluRay format. You must also include a trailer or preview of your short film of no more than 21 seconds in order to further promote your work inside and outside the festival.

At FICSLP we value your creativity and your time, therefore, we recommend that your film contains MORE IN LESS time (avoid extremely long scenes, be concise and concrete in your ideas, so it will be easier to understand your work!
SUBTITLED
- If your short film is in a language other than SPANISH/CASTELLAN, it is mandatory to
SUBTITLED IN SPANISH; if it is spoken in Spanish/Castilian, it is not necessary to subtitle it.
ATTENTION: Our festival is Latin American in Spanish/Spanish language and is broadcasted in the Spanish-speaking festival networks. In order for your film to be seen and understood by the greatest number of people, it is necessary to contain subtitles in this language.
If your film is selected and does not comply with this subtitling requirement, an extension will be granted for the reception of the audiovisual work with the subtitles in the agreed time and form (embedded or .SRT files), otherwise, the short film, feature film, audiovisual work or film will be disqualified.
Subsequently, when we have verified that your short film complies with the rules, we will send you
an e-mail or message through the platform to let you know if it has entered our official selection and/or has been nominated.
- YOU SHOULD ALSO BE AWARE THAT THE ORGANIZATION RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REFUSE TO ADMIT TO THE
AUDIOVISUAL WORKS THAT, ACCORDING TO ITS CRITERION, DO NOT MEET THE TECHNICAL, ARTISTIC AND/OR LEGAL
TECHNICAL, ARTISTIC AND/OR LEGAL CONDITIONS REQUIRED BY THE FESTIVAL.
You can send your films from April 19, 2023, until September 19, 2023, 12:00 HRS, Central Mexico.
- ALTHOUGH THE DEADLINE FOR THE RECEPTION OF FILMS IS LONG, WE ADVISE YOU TO SEND US YOUR FILMS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

OFFICIAL SELECTION
In each edition (FICSLP), we assemble a SELECTION COMMITTEE integrated by film professionals
who will be in charge of viewing the films admitted to the festival and competition. Once the deadline for the reception of short films is over, the same COMMITTEE will decide which, among all those admitted to the competition, will become NOMINATED and, therefore, will receive an invitation to present their work at the FICSLP, opting for the ADOLESCENT HUASTECO AWARDS given by THE SPONSORS, THE JURY and THE AUDIENCE.

If your film becomes an Official Selection and/or Nominated in any of these categories, we will send it to the members of our JURY.

- IN CASE OF WINNING IN ANY CATEGORY OF OUR FESTIVAL, THE CESSION OF EXHIBITION AND DIFFUSION RIGHTS FOR FREE WILL HAVE AN INDEFINITE TERM, IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO FREELY CONTINUE EXHIBITING AND DIFFUSING THE AUDIOVISUAL WORK AND

profesionales de la industria del cine, que serán los encargados de ver todas las selecciones oficiales del Festival y concurso. Una vez que finalice el plazo de recepción de material , el mismo “COMITÉ” se encargará de deliberar cuáles, entre todos las admitidos a concurso, se convierten en NOMINADOS y, por tanto, recibirán una invitación para estar presentes en
FICSLP, optando a los GALARDONES que otorgan LOS PATROCINADORES,
EL JURADO y EL PÚBLICO.

Si tu película se convierte en Selección Oficial y/o Nominada en alguna de estas
categorías se la haremos llegar a los miembros de nuestro JURADO, el cual será
integrado por Actores, Directores, Productores, Fotógrafos y Críticos de la
industria cinematográfica. Ellos tendrán que decidir qué películas entre las
NOMINADAS serán las GANADORAS. Pero además el PÚBLICO también tiene
una participación importante al otorgar el RECONOCIMIENTO DEL PÚBLICO A
LA MEJOR PELÍCULA (entre la selección oficial).
PARTICIPACIÓN Y DIFUSIÓN.
En el FICSLP COMPRENDEMOS que tu obra participa o participará en OTROS
FESTIVALES, es por eso que te damos la oportunidad de hacer más difusión de
tu película mediante un TRAILER o TEASER y generar expectativa del público y
el jurado. Así que trata de incluirlo cuando envíes o subas tus archivos.
De esta forma no incumples las reglas para participar en otros festivales y
adicionalmente el FICSLP muestra su apoyo al proyectar cápsulas en otros
medios de comunicación, dentro y fuera de nuestro festival, en exhibiciones y en la
ENTREGA DE PREMIOS así como otros eventos relacionados con
DAGUERROTIPO A.C. Y FICSLP (programas de televisión, facebook, cineclubs,
proyecciones en otros festivales/certámenes…).
