1. TRANSCINEMA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
Transcinema is Peru's most important avant-garde film festival. It presents films that explore cinematic language and eschew thematic and formal clichés, with no length limits from all over the world and as exclusive premieres in Peru.
2. EVENT DATE
The Special Edition of the Transcinema International Film Festival will be held in person in Lima, Peru, in December 2026. Theaters to be confirmed.
3. CATEGORIES
I. International Competition: For documentary, fiction, animation, and/or avant-garde films from all over the world—except Peru—produced no earlier than 2025. We accept films starting at 10 minutes in length. We request a Peruvian premiere.
II. Transandina Competition: For documentary, fiction, animation, and/or avant-garde films produced in Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, Colombia, Chile, and Venezuela, whose release year is no earlier than 2025. We welcome films of any length. We request a Peruvian release.
4. GENERAL APPLICATION CONDITIONS
a. Submissions for the TRANSCINEMA competitive categories are open to works produced from January 2025 to the present.
b. To participate in the international categories, filmmakers must apply via the FESTHOME online platform.
c. The fee for each submitted film—with the exception of Peruvian films—will be:
Short Films (10 to 29 minutes long)
US$8
Feature Films (more than 30 minutes long)
US$15
d. After accepting the organizer's invitation, films may not be removed from the event's programming nor may they be shown at any other event in the Republic of Peru before their official presentation at the Transcinema International Film Festival Special Edition.
5. REGISTRATION DATE
The TRANSCINEMA call for entries will be open until Sunday, November 1, 2026.
6. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS – ASSIGNMENT OF RIGHTS
Registration for TRANSCINEMA implies acceptance of these terms and conditions and the assignment of the screening rights of the submitted material for the purposes of dissemination at this edition as well as future editions from the date of selection. Furthermore, in conjunction with the signing of these terms and conditions, the owner(s) of the work agree(s) to assign the screening and reproduction rights for the purposes of its exhibition in non-profit activities related to the festival, as well as for its advertising purposes.
Once the reference has been included in the catalog, the film may not be unilaterally withdrawn from the competition.
7. RIGHTS OF PARTICIPATING WORKS
a. Participants declare that they are the sole and actual owners of the audiovisual works submitted to the event, both as authors and as assignees. In the event of falsehood in the sworn declaration, as they are not the owners of the works, the responsibility for any third-party claims will lie exclusively with the participant who submitted the work, and the festival shall have no liability to any third party.
b. Participants declare that they hold all the rights involved in the work.
c. Participants declare that they will hold the event harmless from any claim regarding the ownership of the work and/or lack of authorization regarding the rights contained therein.
