Founded in 2024, Cartagena Planet Shorts brings independent short films from around the world to Cartagena, Colombia, one of the country’s leading cultural cities, where the rhythm of the waves and the flutter of yellow butterflies give time its own rhythm. Inspired by the relationship between cinema, culture, and nature, the festival places a special emphasis on stories that foster environmental awareness while remaining open to films of every genre and perspective.
We welcome submissions from filmmakers of all backgrounds and are proud to promote diversity while encouraging open dialogue within the film community. Our international jury brings together filmmakers, producers, screenwriters, animators, and film industry professionals who will recognize outstanding films across the festival’s categories while also presenting honorary mentions and special recognitions.
