The Brampton Canada International Film Festival (BCIFF) is dedicated to the celebration and advancement of independent cinema and filmmakers across all regions.

Established by a collective of filmmakers and film critics, BCIFF is supported by a distinguished jury comprising film scholars, directors, and critics from Canada and abroad.

Situated northeast of Toronto, in the culturally rich and dynamic city of Brampton, the festival provides an inclusive platform for international storytellers to present their work to diverse audiences.

BCIFF is committed to fostering new talent and promoting independent voices in global cinema. The festival showcases films across a variety of genres and formats, highlighting artistic excellence and originality.

A) BCIFF Eligibility Requirements

1. We accept films of all genres.
2. Films completed on or after Jan 1, 2018 are eligible for considerations. All entries must be either in English or French or subtitled in English.
3. Short films must be under 40 minutes and features should be 40 mins and over.
4. Multiple entries from the same submitter are accepted. A separate submission and a separate entry fee must accompany each entry.

B) BCIFF Submission Guidelines

1. Films must be submitted via online screener hosted by Vimeo,youtube, on DVD or on Blu-ray disc.
2. Only complete entries (including fee payment) will be considered.
3. Entrants are permitted to submit works-in-progress (i.e., without final color correction or sound mixing), but please note that the programming committee will only consider the version submitted. Subsequent cuts or replacement copies will only be accepted at the request of the programming committee.
4. No filmmaker or writer will be either discriminated or favored by their country of origin, language, age, race, education, ideology, or by their economic resources.

C) BCIFF Judging & Selection

Films are selected for Festival presentation by the Brampton Canada International Film Festival programming committee. If a film is selected, the Festival office will contact the entrant by phone or email. The Festival does not provide feedback or screening notes to entries that are not selected.

All competitive film categories are judged during or before the Festival.

D) BCIFF Entry Fees

Each entry must be accompanied by the appropriate entry fee. Entry fees are not refundable. Fees cover registration, registration notification, consideration by the programming department, and notification of the results. These fees may be paid by credit card (VISA, MasterCard, or American Express).

E) We do not accept:
1. Amateur videos
2. Extremist or propaganda content from religious or political organizations

  • I enjoyed being selected for this Film Festival and Im thankful to all of the organizers and attendees for the warm welcome, and congratulate all the winners. This Festival was run in a professional way and was a good networking ground.

    I wish I could rate this higher...They had a good start with following up to ensure they had the most up-to-date and highest resolution of our film, however in short time they became non-responsive. We were selected as Best Short, which we are very grateful for, but there was no notice from the festival itself. I had to find out from one of my Background Performers. I made a request to the festival to confirm and ask how we performed over all the judging categories, since we paid extra for consideration. But after several emails, we've had no response.

  • This festival was such a wonderful opportunity. I am happy that my short "SCANAL IN THE GARDEN" got selected to be screened. It was exciting with all of the wonderful people, interviews, and many pictures. I love pictures. I highly recommend submitting for the next one.
