The Sicilian Film Awards is an international film festival based in Palermo, Sicily, welcoming Sicilian, Italian, and international filmmakers.
The festival focuses on independent cinema, cultural exchange, and meaningful storytelling through awards and selected screenings held throughout the year.

Open to All Filmmakers
The festival welcomes both emerging and experienced filmmakers, offering a platform for sharing work with audiences in a cultural context.
Films do not need premiere status
Multiple category submissions are allowed
Each category is evaluated independently
Screening participation is optional and requires confirmation
Submissions are evaluated by a jury composed of professionals and collaborators working in film, arts, and media, together with selected external contributors.
Awards
Winners in each category receive:
An official digital certificate
Publication on the festival’s website and social media channels
Certificates are sent by email within 1–2 days after the official FilmFreeway notification.
Screenings
Selected films may be invited for optional screenings during festival events.
Screenings take place primarily in Palermo, with occasional additional events depending on the yearly program.
Participation in screenings is always subject to filmmaker confirmation.
