FESTIVAL INTERNAZIONALE DEL CINEMA DI SALERNO

1. ORGANIZATION
The International Film Festival of Salerno was founded in 1946 by the CINECLUB SALERNO and the Organizing Committee (non-profit) provides for the realization of the annual editions.

2. OBJECTIVES AND GOALS
Since birth, the Salerno Festival has been characterized as a competitive event for Italian and international productions, offering a continuous comparison on the developments of world cinematography.
The Festival assigns to cinema an important social function and its finality is to constantly adapt its line with an eye to the evolution of technologies and new "audiovisual" media.
The Festival absolves its original task of divulgation and cinematographic literacy, in line with its tradition.

3. DATE OF EXECUTION
The 77th Salerno International Film Festival will take place in Salerno from 27th of November 20 to 2th of December 2022. To increase the viewing of the films taking part in the Event more widely available, these films will also be visible on a dedicated VOD platform, subject to the authorization of the competitor.
Films uploaded on to the platform will only be visible to those who register on the site and cannot be downloaded. Those who register on the site to view the films have the possibility of voting for their favorites for the purpose of the "PUBLIC AWARD".
If one does not wish to be present on the platform VOD, the registered film will be viewed by the jury. The screening of the films participating in the Competitions in the Festival locations will be scheduled at the discretion of the Festival Management and in any case in relation to the date and the regular method of submitting the films.
In addition to the Competitions for the various Cinematographic Sections, the Festival also proposes Reviews, Retrospectives and collateral activities (Exhibitions, Conferences, Round Tables, etc.) as a contribution to the dissemination of the History of Italian and International Cinema.
On the final evening of 2 December 2023, prizes will be awarded to the winning films and awards to prominent personalities in the artistic, social and cultural fields. The Award Ceremony can also be divided into two specific evenings: an evening dedicated to "Specialised Cinematography" (documentaries, cartoons, etc.) and another evening dedicated to Feature and Short Fiction Films and various awards.
Both the side events and the awards ceremony will be streamed on the Festival's social channels.

Il Festival Internazionale del Cinema di Salerno è stato fondato nel 1946 dal CINECLUB SALERNO ed il Comitato Organizzatore (senza scopo di lucro) provvede alla realizzazione delle Edizioni annuali.

2. OBIETTIVI E FINALITÀ
Fin dalla nascita il Festival di Salerno si è caratterizzato come una manifestazione competitiva per produzioni italiane ed internazionali proponendo così un continuo confronto sugli sviluppi della cinematografia mondiale.
Il Festival assegna al cinema un’importante funzione sociale e la sua finalità è quella di adeguare costantemente la propria linea con uno sguardo all’evoluzione delle tecnologie e dei nuovi mezzi “audiovisivi”.
Il Festival assolve al suo compito originale di divulgazione ed alfabetizzazione cinematografica, coerentemente con la sua tradizione.

3. SVOLGIMENTO
Il 77° Festival Internazionale del Cinema si Salerno si svolgerà nella Città di Salerno dal 27 al novembre al 2 dicembre 2023. Per dare maggiore diffusione alla visione dei film partecipanti alla Manifestazione gli stessi, previa autorizzazione del concorrente, saranno visibili anche su piattaforma VOD dedicata.
I film caricati su piattaforma saranno visibili solamente da chi si registra sul sito e non hanno la possibilità di essere scaricati. Chi si registra sul sito per la visione dei film ha la possibilità di votare i preferiti ai fini dell’assegnazione “PREMIO DEL PUBBLICO”.
Se non si vuole essere presenti sulla piattaforma, il film iscritto sarà comunque visionato e valutato dalla giuria. La proiezione dei film partecipanti ai Concorsi nelle location del Festival sarà programmata a discrezione della Direzione del Festival e comunque in ordine alla data e alla regolare modalità d’iscrizione dei film.
Il Festival oltre i Concorsi per le varie Sezioni Cinematografiche propone anche Rassegne, Retrospettive e attività collaterali (Mostre, Convegni, Tavole Rotonde, ecc.) quale contributo alla divulgazione della Storia del Cinema Italiano ed Internazionale.
Nella serata conclusiva del 2 dicembre 2023 verranno consegnati i premi ai film vincitori e i riconoscimenti a personalità di rilievo in campo artistico, sociale e culturale. La Cerimonia di Premiazione potrà essere anche suddivisa in due specifiche serate: una serata dedicata alla “Cinematografia Specializzata” (documentari, cartoon, ecc) ed altra serata dedicata ai Film Lungometraggi a Soggetto e ai riconoscimenti vari.
Sia gli eventi collaterali che la cerimonia di premiazione saranno trasmessi in streaming sui canali social del Festival.

The films will be evaluated by a special commission formed by the members of the Festival Committee that will examine, with unquestionable judgment, the admission of the work itself to the Competitions.
The admitted works will be submitted to a TECHNICAL JURY that will determine, with unquestionable judgment:

• CATEGORY TROPHY for the various SECTIONS
If there is no film that excels over the others the Category Trophy for the Section may not be awarded.
For each section the Jury may assign one or more Awards for particular merits of the work.
• GRAN TROPHY GOLFO DI SALERNO "IGNAZIO ROSSI" for the absolute best film work.

• A POPULAR JURY, formed by people who are passionate about cinema and who will assiduously follow the screenings, will assign the PUBLIC AWARD.

The Jury of the Festival reserves the indisputable right to award last minute prizes in exceptional cases.

I film saranno valutati da un’apposita commissione formata dai componenti il Comitato del Festival che valuterà, con decisione insindacabile, l’ammissione dell’opera stessa ai Concorsi.
Le opere ammesse saranno sottoposte ad una GIURIA TECNICA che assegnerà, con giudizio insindacabile:

• TROFEO DI CATEGORIA per le varie SEZIONI
Se non c’è un film che eccelle su altri il Trofeo di Categoria per la Sezione potrà non essere assegnato.
Per ogni sezione la Giuria potrà assegnare uno o più Premi per meriti particolari dell’opera.
• GRAN TROFEO GOLFO DI SALERNO “IGNAZIO ROSSI” per l’opera migliore in assoluto.

• Una GIURIA POPOLARE, formata da persone appassionate di cinema e che seguiranno assiduamente le proiezioni se sarà possibile effettuare la manifestazione "in presenza" assegnerà il PREMIO DEL PUBBLICO all'opera che ha ottenuto più voti indipendentemente dalle Sezioni. In contemporanea o in modo alternativo ogni opera potrà essere votata anche sulla piattaforma VOD dedicata ove sarà possibile visionare tutti i film in Concorso.

La Giuria del Festival si riserva il diritto incontestabile di assegnare in casi eccezionali premi all’ultimo minuto.

The Film Contests of the Festival are divided into various sections. Here the details:
1) Feature Fiction Film
2) Short Fiction Films
3) Television Fiction
4) Film Dossier
5) Cartoons
6) Commercials, Videoclip and Smartphone movie
7) “VIDESCUOLA”: Contest reserved for films made by students of the Schools of all levels.
8) "CAMPANY DISCOVERY". In this section participate films (both documentaries and fiction) that have the aim of valorizing places of social, cultural and tourist interest of the Campania Region.
9) Section 'THE SEA LANGUAGE/ THE SEA TALKS' aimed at works (feature films, short films or documentaries) that have THE SEA as their main setting.
10) Competition: 'Cinema for a book - a book for cinema'
11) Documentaries with Sections of specialized Cinematographies about:
• Experiment
• Sport
• Tourism
• Underwater video
• Educational
• Industry
• Information
• Surgical doctor
• Religion
• Science
• Social

MOVIE DETAILS
• Feature Fiction films must have a minimum duration of 60'
• Short Fiction films must have a maximum duration of 60'
• Animation movies have no duration limits
• Documentaries must have a maximum duration of 60m'

Works in foreign languages (except English) must be subtitled in Italian or English.
Works realized before 1st of January 2021 are not admitted to the selection.

TERMS OF REGISTRATION
Each film must be accompanied by the registration form downloadable from the website http://www.festivaldelcinema.it and filled in in every part, the trailer, a photocopy of the payment made and a brief summary of the subject as well as photos, posters and everything useful for the illustration of the film to the press.
For each film, at the time of registration, a registration fee of € 25.00 must be paid as a contribution to the secretarial expenses, on the bank account of Monte Paschi di Siena, Corso Vittorio Emanuele, Salerno in the name of the International Film Festival of Salerno (IBAN: IT72K0103015200000063571366) or with PAYPAL: info@festivaldelcinema.it otherwise the film will be excluded from the Competitions and/or from the awarding of any prizes.
The deadline for registering and submitting films to the competitions is 14th of October 2023.

SENDING FILMS AND ADMISSION TO COMPETITIONS
The films, already in their final version for public screening, can be sent (with expenses to be paid by the participant) on media (DVD, BLUERAY, PENDRIVE, SD CARD, HARD DISK) to the SALERNO CINEMA INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL c/o Centro Congressi De Cesare Viaggi - Via Roma 296 - 84121 SALERNO) or sent ON-LINE by choosing one of the two options below:
1. Option "upload your work via wetransfer or similar" (Please note: the file to upload must be exclusively in MP4, MKV, MOV, AVI, H246 format);
2. Option "report a link on which your work is already uploaded" (Please note: the streaming link must be of the Vimeo, YouTube, etc. type and must allow the download of the file of any format and size. In case of entering the name and password for the download of the work, the link must remain active until the end of the Festival, that is until 3th of December).

The publication in the catalog/program of the event, which will be published online on social media, implies admission to the Competition.
Participants must inform themselves before the start of the event about the admission of films to the Contests and the date of the screening.
Once the entry form and the copy of the film have been sent, it is considered to be entered in the Contests and the participant is not allowed to withdraw it.

GENERAL DISPOSITIONS
1) In case of incomplete application, admission to the Competition is decided at the unquestionable discretion of the artistic direction of the Festival.
2) Each participant may submit one or more works with a separate entry form.
3) All films entered will be part of the Salerno International Film Festival archives and may be used for cultural, educational, etc. purposes for public and/or television screenings. Commercial use is excluded.
6) The Award winners will be notified by the Festival organization by e-mail or telephone.
7) Participation in the competition implies unconditional acceptance of these regulations.
8) These regulations are written in Italian and English. In case of interpretation conflict, the Italian version will be considered authentic.
9) The final program of the Festival, containing the works admitted to the Competition, can be consulted before the beginning of the Event on the website: http://www.festivaldelcinema.it/
10) For anything not provided for in these rules and regulations, the Artistic Direction of the Festival reserves the right to make decisions at its sole discretion.
10) In case of disputes or controversies the Court of Salerno will be competent and will decide according to the Italian text of the Festival regulations.

I Concorsi Cinematografici del Festival sono suddivisi in varie sezioni e precisamente:
1) Sezione Lungometraggi a soggetto
2) Sezione Cortometraggi a soggetto
3) Sezione Fiction Televisiva
4) Sezione Film Dossier
5) Sezione Cartoons
6) Sezione Spot pubblicitari, Videoclip e Smartphone film
7) Concorso “VIDESCUOLA’ riservato ai filmati realizzati dagli studenti delle Scuole di ogni ordine e grado.
8) Sezione “DISCOVERY CAMPANIA”. A questa sezione partecipano filmati (sia documentari che fiction) che hanno lo scopo di valorizzare luoghi di interesse sociale, culturale e turistico della Regione Campania
9) Sezione “IL LINGUAGGIO DEL MARE/IL MARE RACCONTA” rivolta ad opere (lungometraggi, cortometraggi o documentari) che hanno come principale ambientazione IL MARE.
10) Concorso: “Il Cinema per un libro - un libro per il Cinema”
11) Concorso Documentari con le varie Sezioni delle Cinematografie specializzate:
• Sperimentale
• Sportiva
• Turistica
• Video-subacquea
• Didattica
• Industriale
• Informativa
• Medico chirurgica
• Religiosa
• Scientifica
• Sociale

DETTAGLI DEI FILM
• I Lungometraggi a soggetto devono avere una durata minima di 60’
• I Cortometraggi a soggetto devono avere una durata massima di 60’
• I Film di Animazione non hanno limiti di durata
• I Documentari devono avere una durata massima di 60m’

Le Opere in lingua straniera (ad eccezione dell’Inglese) devono essere sottotitolate in in italiano o in inglese.
Non sono ammesse alla selezione le opere realizzate prima del 1 gennaio 2021.
Ogni film può essere iscritto direttamente da questo sito oppure dal sito http://www.festivaldelcinema.it compilando la scheda in ogni sua parte che potrà anche essere scaricata ed inviata alla mail: info@festivaldelcinema.it unitamente alla fotocopia del versamento effettuato, a foto, poster e tutto quanto utile per l’illustrazione del film alla stampa.
Il tutto dovrà pervenire quanto prima per permettere alla Commissione di selezione l’esame per l’ammissione e la classificazione nei rispettivi concorsi e comunque non oltre il 14 ottobre 2023.
Per ogni film, al momento dell’adesione, si dovrà versare una quota di iscrizione di € 25,00 quale contributo alle spese di segreteria, sul conto corrente bancario del Monte Paschi di Siena, Corso Vittorio Emanuele, Salerno intestato al Festival Internazionale del Cinema di Salerno (IBAN: IT72K0103015200000063571366) o tramite PAY PAL (info@festivaldelcinema.it). Non sono ammessi assolutamente i film senza il versamento della quota d’iscrizione.

INVIO FILM ED AMMISSIONE AI CONCORSI
I film possono essere inviati ON-LINE scegliendo una delle due opzioni riportate di seguito:
1. Opzione “carica la tua opera tramite wetransfer o simili” (Nota bene: il file da caricare deve essere esclusivamente in formato MP4, MKV, MOV, AVI, H246);
2. Opzione “segnala un link su cui la tua opera è già caricata” (Nota bene: il link streaming deve essere del tipo Vimeo, YouTube, ecc. e deve consentire il download del file di qualunque formato e dimensione. In caso di inserimento nome e password per il download dell’opera, il link deve restare attivo fino alla fine del Festival e cioè fino al 3 dicembre 2023).
I film possono anche essere spediti, già in versione definitiva per la proiezione pubblica, (con spese a carico del partecipante) su supporto (DVD, BLUERAY, PENDRIVE, SCHEDA SD, HARD DISK) al FESTIVAL INTERNAZIONALE DEL CINEMA DI SALERNO c/o Centro Congressi De Cesare Viaggi - Via Roma 296 - 84121 SALERNO) – I film inviati in questo modo non saranno restituiti.
La pubblicazione del film nel catalogo/programma della manifestazione che sarà diffuso online sul sito del Festival e sui vari social, vale come comunicazione ufficiale di ammissione dell’opera ai Concorsi del Festival.
I partecipanti dovranno informarsi prima dell’inizio della manifestazione sull’ammissione dei film ai Concorsi e sulla data della proiezione.
Inviata la scheda di iscrizione e la copia del film lo stesso si intende iscritto ai concorsi e non è ammesso il ritiro da parte del partecipante.

DISPOSIZIONI GENERALI
1) In caso di richiesta incompleta d’iscrizione, l’ammissione al Concorso è decisa a insindacabile giudizio della direzione artistica del Festival.
2) Ogni partecipante può presentare una o più opere con separate schede d'iscrizione. La quota d’iscrizione deve essere versata per ogni film.
3) Tutti i film iscritti faranno parte dell’archivio Festival Internazionale del Cinema di Salerno e potranno essere utilizzate per fini culturali, didattici, ecc. per proiezioni pubbliche e/o televisive. E’ escluso l’utilizzo commerciale.
4) I Premiati saranno avvisati dall’organizzazione del Festival tramite e-mail o telefono.
5) La partecipazione al concorso implica l’accettazione incondizionata del presente regolamento.
6) Il presente regolamento è redatto in italiano e in inglese. In caso di contrasto interpretativo, fa fede la versione italiana.
8) Il programma definitivo della manifestazione, contenente le opere ammesse al Concorso, potrà essere consultato prima dell’inizio della Manifestazione sul sito: http://www.festivaldelcinema.it/
9) Per quanto non previsto nel presente regolamento la Direzione del Festival si riserva il diritto di prendere decisioni a suo insindacabile giudizio.
10) In caso di contestazioni o controversie sarà competente il Foro di Salerno che deciderà in base al testo in italiano del presente regolamento.
