London Migration Film Festival will be back in February 2027!
Migration used to be relegated to the corners of the film industry, with films focussing largely on the negative experience of displacement. Through the London Migration Film Festival we aim to reframe the discussion in which migrants are conceived solely in opposite terms, as enemies or as victims, and instead rather highlight the diversity, nuance and subjective experience within migration and ultimately, the humanity of it.
We accept films that engage with themes of migration, but we adopt a broad concept of what migration involves: from internal displacement to diaspora stories, from climate migration to the intersection of migration with other key issues of our times such as sexuality, gender and different ability. We also encourage films made by, produced by, and starred in by people with lived experiences of migration.
