Trophy & Prizes

Content submitted to the FOTU festival will be promoted on our website, in printed materials (such as the festival program), and in our press and marketing activity (this can include presenting films that we have selected to the press). The filmmaker gives us the right to use the name of the film, the images submitted for the uses listed. We also inquire if the filmmaker wants to screen their film at tours or similar activities; as we often get asked to provide guest spots at other festivals and events.

Once a film is officially accepted to the festival, the filmmaker can no longer withdraw it from the festival lineup. The filmmaker is also responsible for submitting the screening materials at least four weeks before the festival. If the screening will be a world premiere, please let us know as we will do our best to promote to the local community, and please keep us abreast of your production and marketing activities!

Festival of the Unseen is hereby granted the right to utilize an excerpt (about 1 minute or less) from any film submitted and accepted for exhibition at the Festival for promotional purposes. The individual or corporation submitting the film hereby warrants that it is authorized to commit the film for screening, and understands and accepts these requirements and regulations. The undersigned shall indemnify and hold harmless Festival of the Unseen or its assignees, from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees, and costs of the court) that may be incurred because of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening videos entered

Festival of the Unseen was a wonderful festival with helpful, friendly, and communicative organizers. It was a joy to be a part of. I look forward to entering my future projects.

  • Had a great time at this festival! The organizers couldn't have been more supportive and accommodating, and since they also run a much larger/older festival as well, they have the resources and and know-how to grow this one into a much bigger festival in the near future, although its intimacy is certainly part of its charm. It is housed entirely in a haunted hotel, perfect setting, and be sure you pay a visit to room 409 (unless you're afraid of ghosts, lol). Discussions with other filmmakers were cordial and informative, including a fun UFO panel I took part in. Will definitely enter this festival in the future and, if you've got a short or feature that fits the theme, you should too!

  • I wasn't sure how this movie would be received by people who love UFOs, but I'm grateful that they chose it. I hope you enjoy it.
