The Nikon Film Festival is a free and open to all short film festival based in Paris (France). The concept is simple : submit a 2min20 short film about an imposed theme chosen each year. For this 16th edition, the theme is "Beauty". To participate, register on our website and submit your film before the January 15th, 2026

IMPORTANT: PLEASE NOTE THAT FILMS LONGER THAN 2MIN20 WON'T BE ACCEPTED INTO THE COMPETITION AND WILL BE IMMEDIATELY DISQUALIFIED WITHOUT BEING VIEWED.

• €30,000 worth of Nikon video equipment
• Eligibility for the CNC Talent program (up to €30,000)
• €9,000 in grants offered by the CNC
• €3,000 in equipment rental provided by SOS Cine
• Audio post-production services by Titrafilm
• Public screenings in the CGR cinema network and an Award Ceremony at Le Grand Rex (Paris)
• Invitations to other prestigious events such as the Cannes Film Festival, Les Arcs Film Festival, or the Saint-Jean-de-Luz International Film Festival

This contest is open to all, regardless of their country of residence. Submissions are accepted until January 15th, 2026. Please note that late entries will not be accepted.

To participate, you must register on our website, complete your profile, provide information about your film, and upload it before the closing date for entries. No other methods of participation will be considered.

Each director may upload as many videos as they wish, as long as each film relates to the theme. The length of each video must be between 120 and 140 seconds, including credits. As some video players may round the duration up to the next second, an additional second will be tolerated.

Submitted videos must be in High Definition, with a minimum resolution of 1920x1080 pixels (1080p). To ensure the works submitted are recent, the first broadcast or streaming of the video on any platform must not be earlier than January 1, 2025.

To be eligible for the following awards and prizes—Grand Jury Prize, Media Award, Best Director, Best Photography, Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Sound, Best Student Film, and Audience Award—a French version or a version subtitled in French must be submitted.

To be eligible for the Best International Film Award, an English version or a version subtitled in English must be submitted.

Fifty (50) videos will be preselected by the committee, based on artistic and technical criteria, and presented to the jury for deliberation.

Jury decisions are primarily based on the following criteria: the video’s relevance to the theme, the quality and originality of the screenwriting, technical filmmaking, photography and directing, and personal taste.
