Since 2014, FILMFORT has been showcasing the very best in independent cinema. Send us your latest work and come kick it in BOISE, IDAHO: Filmfort / MARCH 21-23

We love all kinds of films, but if you dig through our archives you’ll notice we gravitate toward fiction and nonfiction films that push the boundaries of form and genre. Stylistically, our selections cover the gamut: polished, gritty, ethereal or DIY. All fair game. Make us laugh, cry, feel squeamish, get pissed... MAKE US FEEL THINGS!

.

READ READ READ: Filmfort does not accept, screen, preview, and/or program films that are older than one year and/or have been playing festivals for more than one year. SUBMISSION CRITERIA
& ELIGIBILITY

• Filmfort accepts submissions for short and feature-length films of any genre. We don't necessarily care if your film is already online, as long as it *is not older than one year* at the time of our festival dates. However if we're forced to make a choice between two exceptional films, one of which is already online, we'll most likely program the one that isn't already available on the internet.

• We strongly encourage you to submit finished work, however if your film is close but not-quite-complete, you may submit a *fine cut* (we do not accept rough cuts) as long as you state in the description or video thumbnail which elements are missing... Filmfort's team consists of filmmakers who have shown at some of the world's top festivals, so we're capable of looking beyond something as innocuous as an unfinished color grade. If you're on the fence or unsure if your film is eligible, send us an email and we're happy to discuss.

• You may not submit a film that is and/or will be older than 365 days (1 year) at the time of Filmfort's festival dates. Please review our festival dates prior to submission.

.

YOUR FILM IS *INELIGIBLE* IF....

• Date of Completion — If the film will be older than one year and/or has been playing festivals and/or online for more than one year prior to the fest, it is ineligible. Please review our festival dates prior to submission.

• Previous Submission — You may *not* re-submit a film that was rejected in a previous year. These will be disqualified and will not receive a refund.

• Festival — Your film is ineligible if, prior to Filmfort, it has had any public exhibition held in the greater Boise/Garden City area and/or as part of another film festival in town.

• Theatrical — Films that have already had a theatrical run are ineligible.

• TV, VOD, Blu-Ray — Films already distributed and/or available on television, VOD, or with BD/DVD release are ineligible.

• Music & Content Rights — It is the sole responsibility of the Applicant and/or Artist to clear all content of the Film/Project from any and all actual or potential legal claims and issues, including, without limitation, claims based upon theories of libel, defamation, invasion of privacy, violation of rights of publicity, theft, breach of confidence, breach of confidential relationship, and breach of express or implied contract (“Third Party Claim(s)”). In the event that any Third Party Claim(s) shall be asserted by any person or entity, the Applicant and/or Artist shall fully hold harmless, indemnify and defend Filmfort, Treefort Music Fest, the Festival, and each of their representatives and affiliates from any liability in connection therewith and from any and all fees and expenses, including but not limited to attorneys’ fees, that each of any of them may incur in connection therewith.

In a nutshell... by submitting your film here, you agree that all rights have been secured.

  • Amazing festival! Ian and Chelsea made everyone feel so welcome. Top notch programming. Thank you for having PREP!

  • Filmfort should be at the top of your submission list. And if you get in, definitely go! Connecting with all the other filmmakers and the organizers on the ground really inspired me. It made me want to immediately make another short film, just to get back there and hang with everyone. Meanwhile there's an entire music festival going on in the background, so there is always something to do. It is a special experience!

This festival was a blast! I would say the challenge was having too many rad choices with all the different forts happening simultaneously. I had to cut it my trip short but boy did I have major fomo seeing everyone's pics. It was my first time in Boise and what a great spot for this experience. I will be submitting all my projects moving forward so I come back!

Filmfort felt like a tight-knit community that welcomed us in immediately. Free, homemade food every night, a wonderful atmosphere for creative connection, and it was an honor to be part of the new Idaho Film Society. Would love to come back.

There’s no other film festival like this. Incredible programming and pure hospitality. The other forts running parallel are just as good. It’s impossible to be bored. You’ll leave energized and inspired.
