Taking place in an artsy side of Kansas City at a Multiplex Theater,The Universal Film Festival has potential to be a fun weekend long festival full of screenings and parties. However that was not the case. Like most festivals, it was poorly attended and there was no sign in the immediate area that there was even a festival happening. The Screeners were made from a local whom ripped the movie from the Online Screening, making the quality not the best. I believe they were playing the films from Blu-Ray. Even though I did bring Blu-Rays with me, they decided to play it from a ripped blu-ray. Quality aside, there wasn't much in the way of anything happening after the screening. Most people just went home afterwards. Unfortunately I wasn't able to stay for the awards show (even though we won an award) and party which was the conclusion to the festival's 3-day weekend! Again this festival has a lot of potential due to the area where the screenings take place. It's a very artsy and trendy college area that has the potential to bring in the crowds. Maybe in some future years.

I really wish I could have been here for this festival! Proud to have been awarded Best Producer and was happy that legendary actor Basil Hoffman offered an acceptance for the honour. All the best for 2017!
