The Southampton International Film Festival is a unique event where all filmmakers and film lovers can be treated like Hollywood Royalty. When it comes to Independent Films, We have had many successful years in the industry.

We have been a part of independent film distribution, independent movie making and the management of other International Film Festivals, we started in 2009, we currently have over 40 films in the market and have helped run five other film festivals.

Every year many of our participants and visitors tell us that highlight of the event is the socialising VIP dinner held on the first day of the festival, the VIP evening events held every evening and of course our Awards night.

We are able to provide our guests with a taste of what even the biggest movie makers experienced as they tried to introduce their films into the world. Telling their story has been a vital part of the success of our festivals.

We can't wait to see you at our festival and look forward to chatting to you about your film and future projects. If your just here to enjoy the festival we hope to sit down and debate the many aspects of the films and see your choice for film of the festival.

We typically have 35-40 awards across all categories, including Best Film of the Festival, Best Feature, Best Short Film, Best Documentary, Best Animation, Best Short Documentary, Best Comedy, Best Student Film, Best Horror/Thriller Film, Best Director, Cinematography, Original Score, Screenplay, Editing, Visual Effects, Sound Design, Costume Design, Production Design, Hair & Make-Up and more! Awards will vary year to year.

Films submitted in the incorrect category will be automatically disqualified, & any fees paid will not be reimbursed.
At our discretion, we may choose to transfer a film to the correct category, but only if the appropriate level of submission fee has been paid. Any excess fees paid will not be reimbursed.

BAD EXPERIENCE. We have had to withdraw from the festival because they failed to hold the online festival on Oct15th and after one update blaming covid we didn't hear back for weeks. I emailed them and send a message on Facebook without reply and then finally I emailed requesting a refund or I will have to leave a bad review and if they paid the refund I wouldn't leave a bad review, in fact I will leave a good one because it was settled amicably. The festival director then phoned me demanding an apology from me for my email. To which I demanded an apology back. He threatened to black list me from all festivals and told me to go and screw myself I'm not getting a refund. I have email evidence to prove this. I'm sure they'll normally good and this is a stressful time but it's unacceptable to firstly be so delayed (in the new year was their prediction for the festival) and then be berated on the phone when I'm the paying filmmaker. Petty.
