South Texas Underground Film Festival(STUFF), is organized by artists of different mediums for artists of different mediums(South Texas Underground Film(STUF)(Texas Non-Profit) and Texas Association of Chicanos in Higher Education (TACHE) / Del Mar College (DMC) Chapter(501c3).

We provide a festival that showcases all kinds of work from filmmakers, visual artists and musicians while providing educational opportunities during the festival.

STUFF is located in Corpus Christi, Texas with venues located in the Del Mar College Cultural Art District.

STUFF features: Short Film Series, Hecho en Tejas Showcase, Animation, Experimental, International and other special selections.

Julia Arredondo(Vice Versa Press) called STUFF "the hookup of the year". STUFF has a mixer and an after party everyday of the festival and you may find the "After-After Party". Life long friendships and partnerships have been made with attendees. STUFF is a free festival because the founders and organizers(all being artists) believe that artwork should be seen by everyone not just the elite few.

In 2016, STUFF was named one of the Top 100 Best Reviewed Film Festival on FilmFreeway and in 2013, STUFF was also in the running for MovieMaker Magazines Coolest Experimental/Underground Film Festival in the world.

“the team at STUFF have put on a top class festival. The programming is second to none – we have seen some amazing films here – and the hospitality has been endless. Mixers every day, after parties, free stuff, you name it. We have made some really great friends and I hope we get an opportunity to come back sometime.”
- Donna McRae(Filmmaker- Johnny Ghost)

"People have a different kind of drama, sense of humor. It’s great to see from different backgrounds and cultures. These kinds of festivals are made for this. Especially when filmmakers make a festival for filmmakers. It doesn’t get any better than that.”
– Niko Kostet(Filmmaker-Christian Dreadful, Pyro)

"STUFF is like the punk rock answer to a lot of mainstream films/fests. When you come to STUFF you never know what you're going to get."
- Jeremy Gomez(Filmmaker)

"The crowd was really good and engaged, and it was a laid back screening. I think sometimes people take these festivals too seriously when it's supposed to be fun."
- James Christopher(Filmmaker)

"The energy is really cool here. STUFF is really close to Austin and I always feel welcome here. I see the completely different scenes and different festivals from other parts of Texas and from around the world mixing here and I think that's really cool." - Nathan Felix(Musician/Composer)

“a massive celebration of international alternative cinema”
– Mike Everleth(The Underground Film Journal)

"I know I don’t want to see cookie cutter projects or revamping of things that I’ve seen before. I truly believe that the underground is where the heart and soul and substance of art is at. The perspectives on story telling and self expression are amazing. In the words of Bjork, “DECLARE YOUR INDEPENDENCE!””
– Mariella Perez(STUFF - Director)

I had a terrific experience at South Texas Underground Film Festival - it was definitely one of the highlights of our film festival tour.

Robert and Maria are not only passionate about indie film, but also two of the most caring and considerate festival directors I've ever met. They're building a community that not only involves college students, locals but also bright and talented filmmakers from around the country. The audiences are appreciative and ask great questions. And the festival has a great aesthetic to it - they were the best t-shirts from our entire festival tour. That aesthetic guides them in selecting great films and curating a wonderful experience.

This is a festival on the rise - look out!

True champions of underground film. I owe Maria and Robert a debt of gratitude for showcasing my films at their festival. Corpus Christi needs you guys and filmmakers like me need you too. Keep up the great work!

Such great communication from this awesome festival! I hope that I'll be able to attend in the future, but as a filmmaker on the sidelines I was really impressed with the fest!!

One of my all-time favorite festivals. This fest has been family since they screened our first short a few years ago. Looking forward to many more years.
