The NOLA Horror Film Fest is a festival created by horror filmmakers for horror fans. It’s no small wonder - and no great surprise - that so many of today’s top directors got their start in “low budget horror”. With determination and imagination, these artists have created some truly memorable work that has encouraged and inspired a new generation of filmmakers. Our goal is the promotion of Genre Filmmaking in Louisiana, as well as nationally and internationally. The NOLAHFF is committed to celebrating the craft and advancing the art form of Genre Films.

The NOLA Horror Film Fest takes place in one of the most famous - and most haunted - cities in the world. From the Thursday night festivities (Opening Night Screening, Opening Night Party w/ Live Band), through three days of the best horror & sci-fi programs (Features & Shorts Screenings, Filmmaker Q&A’s, Panel Discussions, Filmmaker Lunch, Special Guests), to the Sunday night events (Awards Ceremony), the NOLAHFF is going to be a weekend to remember. We encourage filmmakers, casts & crews, friends & family, and horror fans alike to experience New Orleans (from the food to the music to the history).

Even though the festival is called NOLA Horror Film Fest, the NOLAHFF accepts ALL SUB-GENRES: Horror / Science Fiction / Fantasy / Thriller / Suspense / Psychological / Action / Gothic / Dark Drama / Dark Comedy / Horror Comedy / B-Movie / Campy / Experimental / Documentary

JT and his team are unreal. Enter this festival because it's so so f****** good. They are always there, picked me up from the airport and showed me how to party haha. Honestly though they will answer all questions no matter what time day or night and make sure you and your film have the best experience ever! ( Am I getting paid to say this) haha honestly though

Don't miss out. They are filmmakers who know what filmmakers want. This is another film festival that I would rank among the greats such as SITGES. Not even kidding.

I had so much fun and was so impressed. Thank you guys and hats off.

    See you soon -

NOLA Horror Film Fest was a blast! I am so happy my film was selected, nominated, and took home best actress. It was my first time going to New Orleans and it was the first trip I have ever taken where I didn't want to leave. It was such a great time. There were some really incredible films at the festival and the people were so nice. I will definitely be submitting my work again. JT and Charles were so kind and helpful, I am glad that I had the opportunity to meet them.

From the moment I read about the NOLA Horror Film Fest, on Film Freeway, I knew this festival would be a unique experience like no other. The dedication and passion of everyone involved in creating this event has my utmost respect and gratitude for their attention to detail and appreciation of the film genre. The talent and creativity that was presented over the four days was remarkable and showed a high level of originality. Congratulations to all the 2016 Winners and Finalists... Before I get back to writing a new screenplay for next years competition there is one more thing that stood out about the NOLA Horror Film Fest Team/Family, they went above and beyond to make each person feel at home just like they were part of the family. I haven't seen that level of genuine sincerity in a very long time and it has continued even after the Film Fest ended.#Inspirational
