IndieFlicks is the UK's monthly film festival, supporting the best up and coming filmmakers from around the world. IndieFlicks is continuously growing, hosting simultaneous screenings in Manchester, Liverpool & Sheffield.

"They only pick the best films for their screenings so it's not only a great festival to enter, but a great film night to attend. I've enjoyed every film i've seen so far.”
Chris Cronin, Director.

How our monthly festival works…

Our Monthly Festival is a showcase of Short films from around the world, screening 50 minutes of short film in the first half, followed by our selected Feature Short in the second. We also host a Q&A with filmmakers able to attend and talks with local creatives.
At each event, two films will be selected to win either one of our awards:

The People’s Choice Award
The Directors Choice Award

Films included in the first half are nominated for our 'The People's Choice Award’; This is evidently voted for our audiences on the night and votes are calculated collectively from all of our venues.

In the second half of the night we host our 'Feature Short', one film no longer than 50 minutes. This is our headliner for the event. This film is awarded, ‘The Directors Choice Award’, one that our Judging panel felt deserves recognition.

"Not only is IndieFlicks a brilliant opportunity to network within the Manchester filmmaking community, it offers insight into short filmmaking approaches worldwide."
Martyn Ellis, Sound Engineer, Noise Four

Awards & Prizes

An 'Official Selection' gratification and 2 x complimentary ticket awarded to each film selected on the night.

Awards:

'IndieFlicks Peoples Choice' award.
'IndieFlicks Directors Choice' award.

(Each award is selected on the night of the screening)

Prizes:

Free entry into ‘North West Kino Kabaret’, hosted in Liverpool each year.

The Kino Kabaret is a filmmaking challenge, with a difference. A week is split into two rounds. At the start of each round you can pitch your own film or join a production team. Having been trekking around a fair few film festivals, this is one of my absolute favourite. Affordable and ethical. The hosts are warm and welcoming - the screening was packed, and the whole experience was great fun. I just wish all festivals were as great as this one.

Brilliant festival. The quality of films was fantastic. They only select around seven films and it is an international festival, so lots of variation but all films had a very professional aesthetic. Very warm and welcoming people as well. I felt like there could have been more organised networking at the end perhaps (maybe name badges to help ease people into networking), but overall the emphasis is not on networking for this festival, so it is completely excusable. Whilst the venue is intimate, the screen is large and is projected using a great projector whilst the sound quality is sublime. The venue doubles up as a music venue, so naturally the speaker systems are brilliant. Communication was speedy and very official. All round, a great festival! I would recommend anyone to submit their film. It is worth the fee.
