IndieFlicks is the UK's monthly film festival, supporting the best, current, and up & coming filmmakers from around the world. IndieFlicks is continuously growing, currently hosting screenings on the first Wednesday of each month at our UK venues.

"They only pick the best films for their screenings so it's not only a great festival to enter, but a great film night to attend. I've enjoyed every film i've seen so far.”
Chris Cronin, Director.

How our monthly festival works…

Our monthly festival is a showcase of short films from around the world, screening a selection within 50 minutes in the first half, followed by our selected Featured Short in the second. We also host a Q&A with filmmakers able to attend and talks with local creatives.
At each event, two films will be selected to win either one of our awards:

The People’s Choice Award
The Directors Choice Award

Films included in the first half are nominated for our 'The People's Choice Award’; This is voted for by our audiences on the night and votes are calculated collectively from all of our venues that are screening that month.

In the second half of the night we host our 'Feature Short', one film no longer than 50 minutes. This is our headliner for the event. This film is awarded, ‘The Directors Choice Award’, one that our Judging panel felt deserves recognition.

"Not only is IndieFlicks a brilliant opportunity to network within the Manchester filmmaking community, it offers insight into short filmmaking approaches worldwide."
Martyn Ellis, Sound Engineer, Noise Four

An 'Official Selection' gratification and 2 x complimentary tickets awarded to each film selected.

'IndieFlicks Peoples Choice' award.
'IndieFlicks Directors Choice' award.

(Each award is selected on the night of the screening)

Indie Flicks is a really great festival, I was thoroughly impressed by it! I went to the screening of my film in Manchester, there was a great selection of films showing and the voting the audiences favourite film was a great idea, it got everyone discussing the films right away. The staff were all really lovely. I will definitely be submitting again in future and look forward to going to more of their events!

IndieFlicks is simply an incredible festival. Rarely have I been to a festival so welcoming and thoughtout. John and his team are truly fantastic, a sold out screening followed by a brilliant Q & A presented by Myles Mercer (that asked genuinely considered questions about the film). The fact that the festival films each Q and A for YouTube shows how much they care about the films/filmmaker, promoting them and archiving their appearance. I’ll be returning to IndieFlicks as an audience member and would definitely recommend submitting.
