1. Objectives
1.1 – EcoZine aims to promote, screen, and reward audiovisual works of fiction, animation, experimental, and documentary films focused on socio-environmental issues, produced anywhere in the world, as well as to encourage actions and parallel activities related to this subject.
1.2 – By socio-environmental issues we mean those topics that analyze and connect the interaction between human society and the environment, considering social, economic, and cultural aspects as well as ecological ones. That is, they do not focus solely on nature or solely on social matters, but on how they influence each other.
By way of example, though not exclusively, they include issues such as:
• Climate change: causes, consequences, and social adaptation.
• Biodiversity and conservation: species loss, ecosystem protection.
• Pollution and health: air, water, soil, waste, and their impact on communities.
• Natural resource management: water, energy, soil, forests.
• Environmental justice: how ecological problems affect different social groups unequally.
• Development and production models: intensive agriculture, extractivism, mining, urbanization.
• Circular economy and sustainability: reduction, reuse, and recycling.
• Citizen participation and environmental education: social movements, activism, training.
• Socio-cultural impacts: displacement of communities, loss of territories, indigenous peoples.
• Public policies and environmental governance: laws, international agreements, local management.
In summary: socio-environmental issues seek to understand how human decisions affect the environment and how environmental changes influence social and cultural life.

2. Festival
2.1 – The 19th Edition of EcoZine Film Festival will take place in April 2026 and will be held in different territories, with Zaragoza (Spain) as the main venue.

3. Submission Rules
3.1 – Films submitted must have been produced after July 1, 2024.
3.2 – Submission to the Official Section will be made in one of the following categories:
• Short film: documentary, fiction, or animation, with a maximum duration of 25 minutes including credits.
• Documentary feature film, with a minimum duration of 50 minutes including credits.
3.3 – Submission fees for the Official Section are: €10 for short films and €20 for feature films.
3.4 – Submission to the Young Film Festival Section (short films made by schools) is free of charge, and no screening fees will be paid.
3.5 – The call for entries is open until November 15, 2025.
3.6 – A maximum of 32 productions will be selected for the Official Section, distributed as follows:
• Documentary short film: 8
• Fiction short film: 8
• Animation short film: 8
• Documentary feature film: 8
3.7 – EcoZine Film Festival will pay the following screening fees in the Official Section, regardless of the number of screenings:
• Documentary, animation, and fiction short films: up to €100.
• Documentary feature films: up to €250.
3.8 – An independent team will select, from the submitted works, the films that will participate in the different sections of the festival, and its decision shall be final.
3.9 – Individuals or legal entities linked to the submitted works, whether feature or short films, are prohibited from participating in the selection team, the Official Jury, and/or the organizational structures of the 19th edition of ECOZINE.

4. Notification and Participation
4.1 – The producers and/or directors and/or distributors of the selected films will be informed before December 15, 2025. This date may be extended according to the needs of the festival organization.
Directors of the works selected in the Official Section will be invited to present their films during the festival. This invitation includes domestic transport within Spain, attendance at the screening of the film, accommodation at the hotel chosen by the organization (up to 3 nights), and meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner).
4.2 Sustainability Policy on Transport and Mobility:
Aware of the environmental impact generated by travel associated with the organization of an international film festival, we establish the following guidelines:
• Prioritize public transport.
• The use of air transport is restricted and will only be considered in cases of justified necessity.
• For medium-distance journeys, high-speed trains or other land transport will be prioritized.
• Optimize local transfers.
• Encourage carpooling among staff and guests.
• For urban journeys, bicycles, trams, buses, or walking will be promoted as preferred options.
• The entire festival community is invited to actively contribute to reducing the environmental impact of their travel.
4.3 – EcoZine Film Festival will notify by email those selected as nominees for the corresponding award in the short film or feature film category.
4.4 – Films selected to participate in the 19th edition must submit, before January 20, 2026, the following materials:
• Screening copy according to the instructions provided by the festival organization.
• Trailer and any other promotional material available (posters, etc.).
• Films in a language other than Spanish must include Spanish subtitles. If no Spanish subtitles are available, a dialogue list in Spanish or English with time codes (.srt or similar file) must be provided.
4.5 – EcoZine Film Festival may create parallel sections with films not selected for the Official Section, when considered of interest for screening in the 19th edition, always with the payment of screening fees (up to €60 for short films and €150 for feature films).

5. Jury and Awards
5.1 – An Official Jury will be constituted to choose the winners in the Competitive Section, and all decisions shall be final and not subject to appeal. The Organization may invite other independent bodies and organizations/associations to participate in the verdict of any of the awards granted.
5.2 – The Jury will grant the following awards consisting of a trophy and a cash prize:
• International Film (€1000)
• National Film (€1000)
• Documentary Short Film (€500)
• Fiction Short Film (€500)
• Animation Short Film (€500)
5.3 – In addition, the organization of the 19th edition of EcoZine grants the following non-monetary awards:
• Young Audience Award in the Young Section.
• Audience Award in the category of short films made by schoolchildren up to 12 years old in the Young Film Festival Section.
• Audience Award in the category of short films made by schoolchildren over 12 years old in the Young Film Festival Section.
5.4 Other Awards:
• Aragón Televisión Award, sponsored by Corporación Aragonesa de Radio y Televisión, endowed with €900 in exchange for the transfer of non-exclusive broadcasting rights of the audiovisual work, valid for one year from the delivery date of materials to the channel. This transfer includes broadcasts on Aragón TV’s DTT channel and making the content available on its website or digital platform immediately after each broadcast on DTT, for a period of seven days. It is an essential requirement to hold exclusive exploitation rights of the audiovisual work. Acceptance of the award implies delivery of the audiovisual work according to the technical requirements established by the channel. To process the Aragón TV Award, the Festival organization will connect the winner with the Department of New Audiovisual Projects of the channel.
• Environmental Values Award, granted by ecological associations of Aragón.
• Distribution Award in Spain, offered by CONUNPACK DISTRIBUCIÓN.
5.5 – Other awards may be offered by sponsors, national and international institutions and organizations previously approved by the Festival Organization.

6. General Conditions
6.1 – For the promotion of the Festival, the Organization reserves the right to screen, free of charge, an extract of the selected films in cinemas, television, internet, or other public media.
6.2 – During the festival, the Organization reserves the right to screen the selected films as many times as necessary. In this regard, producers grant the rights in accordance with point 3.7 of these regulations.
6.3 – After the festival, EcoZine may use the selected films for non-profit cultural and environmental programs, always with the express permission of the rightful owners.
6.4 – Any situation not covered by these regulations will be determined by the Board of Directors of the organizing association of the 19th edition of EcoZine, in accordance with the general principles of law and the practices of audiovisual or festival competitions, and its decision shall be final.
6.5 – These regulations are available in English and Spanish. In case of doubt, the Spanish version shall prevail.

1. OBJETIVOS
1.1- EcoZine quiere promover, exhibir y recompensar obras audiovisuales de ficción, animación, experimentales y documentales, enfocadas en temas socioambientales, producidos en cualquier parte del mundo, además de promover acciones y actividades paralelas relacionadas con este tema
1.2- Entendemos por temáticas socioambientales aquellos temas que analizan y relacionan la interacción entre la sociedad humana y el medio ambiente, considerando tanto los aspectos sociales, económicos y culturales como los ecológicos. Es decir, no se centran solo en la naturaleza o solo en lo social, sino en cómo se influyen mutuamente.
A título enunciativo y no exclusivo, se incluyen cuestiones como:
• Cambio climático: causas, consecuencias y adaptación social.
• Biodiversidad y conservación: pérdida de especies, protección de ecosistemas.
• Contaminación y salud: aire, agua, suelo, residuos y su impacto en las comunidades.
• Gestión de recursos naturales: agua, energía, suelo, bosques.
• Justicia ambiental: cómo los problemas ecológicos afectan de forma desigual a distintos grupos sociales.
• Modelos de desarrollo y producción: agricultura intensiva, extractivismo, minería, urbanización.
• Economía circular y sostenibilidad: reducción, reutilización y reciclaje.
• Participación ciudadana y educación ambiental: movimientos sociales, activismo, formación.
• Impactos socioculturales: desplazamientos de comunidades, pérdida de territorios, pueblos indígenas.
• Políticas públicas y gobernanza ambiental: leyes, acuerdos internacionales, gestión local.
En resumen: las temáticas socioambientales que buscan comprender cómo las decisiones humanas afectan al entorno y cómo los cambios ambientales influyen en la vida social y cultural.

2.. FESTIVAL
2.1-La 19ª Ed. de EcoZine Film Festival tendrá lugar en abril de 2026 y se celebrará en diferentes territorios, siendo la sede principal en Zaragoza (España).

3. REGLAMENTO DE INSCRIPCIÓN
3.1-Las películasque se presenten deben haber sido producidas después del 1 de julio de 2024.
3.2- La inscripción para la sección oficial, se realizará enalguna de las siguientes secciones:
• Cortometraje:pudiendo ser documental, ficción y animación, con una duración máxima de 25 minutos incluyendo títulos de crédito.
• Largometraje documental, con una duración mínima de 50 minutosincluyendo títulos de crédito.
3.3-La inscripción en la sección oficial tiene un coste de: 10 € para cortometrajes y 20 € para largometrajes
3.4-La inscripción para la Sección Young Film Festival (cortometrajes realizados por centros escolares) es gratuita y no se pagarán derechos de exhibición.
3.5-La convocatoria está abierta hasta el 15 de noviembre de 2025
3.6-En la sección oficial se seleccionará un número máximo de 32 producciones, repartidas de la siguiente manera:
-Cortometraje documental: 8
-Cortometraje ficción: 8
-Cortometraje animación: 8
-Largometraje documental: 8
3.7-EcoZine Film Festival pagará los siguientes derechos de exhibición en la sección oficial, independientemente del número de pase que se realicen:
-Cortometrajes documental, animación y ficción, hasta un máximo de 100 €
-Largometrajes documental: hasta un máximo de 250 €
3.8- Un equipo independiente seleccionará entre las obras presentadas las películas que van a participar en las diferentes secciones del festival, siendo su decisión irrecurrible.
3.9-Está prohibida la participaciónde personas físicas o jurídicas vinculadas con las obras presentadas, ya sean largometrajes o cortometrajes en el equipo de selección, en el Jurado Oficial y/o en las estructuras de la organización de la 19ª edición de ECOZINE.

4. NOTIFICACIÓN Y PARTICIPACIÓN
4.1- Las productoras y/o directoras/es y/
o distribuidoras de las películas seleccionadas serán informados antes del 15 de diciembre de 2025.
Esta fecha podrá ampliarse de acuerdo a las necesidades de la organización del festival.
Se invitará a los/as directores/as de las obras seleccionadas en la sección oficial para su presentación durante el festival. Dicha invitación incluye el transporte interno dentro de España, asistencia a la proyección de la película, alojamiento en el hotel elegido por la organización hasta un máximo de 3 noches y manutención, entendiendo por tal, desayuno, comida y cena.
4.2 Política de Sostenibilidad en Transporte y Movilidad:
Conscientes del impacto ambiental que generan los desplazamientos asociados a la organización de un festival internacional de cine, establecemos las siguientes directrices:
• Priorizar el transporte público
• El uso del transporte aéreo queda restringido y solo se contemplará en casos de necesidad justificada
• En recorridos de media distancia se priorizarán trenes de alta velocidad u otros medios de transporte terrestre.
• Optimizar los traslados locales
• Se fomentará el uso compartido de vehículos (carpooling) entre equipo e invitados.
• Para trayectos urbanos se incentivará el uso de bicicleta, tranvía, buses o caminar como opciones preferentes.
• Invitamos a toda la comunidad del festival a contribuir activamente en la reducción del impacto ambiental de sus desplazamientos.
4.3- EcoZine Film Festival notificará mediante correo electrónico a los seleccionados que son nominados al premio correspondiente en la categoría de largometraje o cortometraje.
4.4- Las películas seleccionadas para participar en la 19ª edición deberán enviar, antes del 20 de enero de 2026, los siguientes documentos:
• Copia de proyección según indicaciones que daremos desde la organización del festival
• Trailer y cualquier otro material disponible para promoción (carteles, etc.)
• Las películas, si están en un idioma distinto del castellano, deben tener subtítulos en castellano. Si no existen subtitulos en castellano se debe enviar la lista de diálogos en castellano o inglés con códigos de tiempo (archivos .srt o similar)
4.5- EcoZine Film Festival puede crear secciones paralelas con películas que no han sido seleccionadas en la sección oficial, cuando se consideran interesantes para su proyección en la 19ª edición, siempre con pago de derechos de exhibición, con un máximo de 60 € para cortometrajes y de 150 € para largometrajes

5. JURADO Y PREMIOS
5.1- Se constituirá un Jurado Oficial para elegir a los ganadores en la Sección Competitiva, y todas las decisiones serán definitivas y por tanto irrecurribles. La Organización podrá invitar a otros organismos independientes y organizaciones / asociaciones a participar en el veredicto de cualesquiera de los premios otorgados.
5.2- El Jurado otorgará los siguientes premios consistente en trofeo y premio en metálico.
• Película Internacional (1000 €)
• Película Nacional (1000 €)
• Cortometraje documental (500 €)
• Cortometraje de ficción (500 €)
• Cortometraje de animación (500 €)
5.3-La organización de la 19ª edición de EcoZine otorga, además, los siguientes premios no monetarios
-Premio del Público Joven en la categoría Sección Jóvenes
-Premio del Público en la categoría de cortometrajes realizados por escolares hasta 12 años en la sección Young Film Festival
-Premio del Público en la categoría de cortometrajes realizados por escolares de más 12 años en la sección Young Film Festival
5.4 Otros premios
-Premio Aragón Televisión patrocinado por Corporación Aragónesa de Radio y Televisión, dotado con 900 en concepto de cesión de derechos de emisión no exclusivos de la obra audiovisual, con una duración de un año, a partir de la fecha de entrega de materiales a la cadena. Dicha cesión incluye pases en el canal TDT de Aragón TV y la puesta a disposición del contenido, en la página web o en la plataforma digital, inmediatamente después de cada una de las emisiones en TDT, por un periodo de siete días. Es requisito imprescindible ser titular en exclusiva de los derechos de explotación de la obra audiovisual. La aceptación del premio supone la entrega de la obra audiovisual según los requerimientos técnicos establecidos por la cadena. Para tramitar el premio Aragón TV, la organización del Festival de cine, pondrá en contacto al ganador con el Departamento de Nuevos Proyectos Audiovisuales de la cadena.
-Premio Valores Ambientales otorgado por asociaciones ecologistas de Aragón.
-Premio a la distribución en España ofrecido por CONUNPACK DISTRIBUCIÓN.
5.5-Podrán ser ofrecidos otros premios por patrocinadores, instituciones y organizaciones nacionales e internacionales previamente aprobadas por la organización del Festival

6. CONDICIONES GENERALES
6.1- Para la promoción del Festival, la Organización se reserva el derecho de exhibir con carácter gratuito, un extracto de las películas seleccionadas, en cine, televisión, Internet u otros medios públicos
6.2- Mientras se celebre el festival, la organización se reserva el derecho de mostrar las películas seleccionadas tantas veces como sea necesario. Según este punto, los productores concederán los derechos de acuerdo al punto 3.7 de actual reglamento
6.3- Tras el festival, EcoZine podrá utilizar las películas seleccionadas para programas culturales y ambientales y sin ánimo de lucro, siempre con el permiso expreso de los legítimos propietarios.
6.4- Cualquier situación omitida en este reglamento será determinada por la Junta Directiva de la asociación organizadora de la 19ª edición de la organización de EcoZine, de acuerdo con los principios generales del derecho y los usos en concursos audiovisuales o festivales, siendo su decisión irrecurrible.
6.5-Este reglamento está en inglés y castellano. En caso de duda, se resolverá por la versión en castellano.
