Ecozine Film Festival

1.1-The 17th ECOZINE FILM FESTIVAL (April 2024) will be held in different locations, with the main headquarters being in Zaragoza (Spain).
2.1-EcoZine wants to promote, showcase and reward audiovisual works of fiction, animation, experimental and documentaries, focused on environmental issues, produced anywhere in the world, while also promoting actions and parallel activities related to this subject.
2.2- Environment: all aspects related to climate change, water resources and their management, sustainable development and change, human rights and gender relations in relation to the environment, North-South relations and socio-economic imbalances and other human activities with harmful effects to the natural environment.
3.1-The films must have been produced after July 1, 2022
3.2-Registration for the competition sections will be done in the following sections:
• Short films, up to 25 minutes (fiction, documentary and animation)
• Feature Films, more than 45 minutes (documentary)
3.3-The call for entry is open until November 15, 2023.
3.4-Ecozine Film Festival does not pay screening fees.
3.5-The producers and / or directors and / or distributors of the films selected will be informed before December 15, 2023. This date may be extended according to the needs of Ecozine´s Organization.
The Film Festival will just notify the selected films.
3.6-The films selected to participate in the 17th edition must send before January 15, 2024, with the following documents:
• Screening Copy
• Filmmaker´s C.V.
• Two HQ photos to be used for the web and catalogue.
• Trailer and any other materials available for promotion (posters, etc.).
• Selected films that are not in Spanish must be submitted with Spanish subtitles. If they do not have Spanish subtitles they should be sent with English or French subtitles with the time codes (srt files or similar).
4.1-An independent Selection Team will select among the works submitted the films that are going to participate in the competitive categories.
4.2-It is forbidden the participation in the Selection Team, the Official Jury and structures of the organization of the 16th edition of ECOZINE, of individuals or legal entities with any connection with the films submits in the Competitive Sections.
4.3- EcoZine Festival can create parallel sections with films that haven't been selected, if they are considered interesting to screen during the 16th edition.
5.1-An International Official Jury will be constituted to choose winners in the Competitive Sections, and all decisions will be final. The Organization may invite other independent and organizations / associations to decide any of the prizes awarded.
5.2- The Jury will award the following prizes:
• Best International Film Feature
• Best National Film Feature
• Best Short Documentary
• Best Short Fiction
• Best Short Animation
5.3-It will be applied a deduction on the total of the prize, according to the Spanish Legislation.
5.4-The organization of the 17th edition of EcoZine also gives the following recognized awards (non-monetary awards):
-Young Audience Award for Best Short Film
-Best Short Jury Prize made by schoolchildren up to 12 years old
-Best Short Jury Prize for schoolchildren over 12 years old

5.5- Other awards can be offered by institutions and national and international organizations, previously approved by the organization of the Festival
6.1- For the Festival promotion, Ecozine´s Organization reserves the right to exhibit an extract from the films selected free, in cinema, TV, Internet or other public media
6.2- While the competition is held, the organization reserves the right to display the selected films as many times as necessary. According to this point the producers will give in the rights without any charge during the Festival.
6.3- After the Film Festival, EcoZine may use the films selected for cultural and environmental programs, always with the express permission of the owners.
6.4.- Any situation omitted from these regulations shall be determined by the 17th Edition Ecozine´s organization, according to general principles of law and customs of audiovisual contest or festivals.
6.5- These regulations have been presented in English and Spanish. If any matter should arise, it shall be settled according to the Spanish version.

1.1- La 17ª Ed. de Ecozine Film Festival (abril 2024) se celebrará en diferentes lugares, siendo la sede principal en Zaragoza (España).
2.1-EcoZine quiere promover, exhibir y recompensar obras audiovisuales de ficción, animación, experimentales y documentales, enfocadas en temas ambientales, producidos en cualquier parte del mundo, además de promover acciones y actividades paralelas relacionadas con este tema
2.2- Entendemos por medioambiente todos los aspectos relacionados con el cambio climático, los recursos hídricos y su gestión, el desarrollo y el cambio sostenibles, los derechos humanos y las relaciones de género en relación con el medio ambiente, las relaciones Norte-Sur y los desequilibrios socioeconómicos y otras actividades humanas con efectos perjudiciales para el medio ambiente natural.
3.1-Las películas deben haber sido producidas después del 1 de julio de 2022.
3.2- La inscripción para la sección de competición se realizará en las siguientes secciones:
• Cortometrajes de hasta 25 minutos (documental, ficción y animación)
• Largometrajes, más de 45 minutos (documental)
3.3-La convocatoria es abierta hasta el 15 de noviembre de 2023.
3.4-El Festival de Cine Ecozine no pagará derechos de proyección
3.5- Los productores y / o directores y / o distribuidores de las películas seleccionadas serán informados antes del 15 de diciembre de 2023. Esta fecha podrá ampliarse de acuerdo a las necesidades de la Organización Ecozine.
El Festival de Cine solo notificará la selección a las películas seleccionadas
3.6- Las películas seleccionadas para participar en la 17ª edición deberán enviar a, antes del 15 de enero de 2024, los siguientes documentos:
• Copia de proyección
• C.V. Realizadores
• Dos fotos HQ para su inclusión en web y catálogo
• Trailer y cualquier otro material disponible para promoción (carteles, etc.)
• Las películas, si están en un idioma distinto del español, deben tener subtítulos en español, En última instancia se debe enviar la lista de diálogos en español, inglés o francés, con códigos de tiempo (Archivos .srt o similar)
4.1- Un Equipo independiente seleccionará entre las obras presentadas las películas que van a participar en las categorías competitivas.
4.2- Se prohíbe participar en el Equipo de Selección, en el Jurado Oficial y en las estructuras de la organización de la 17ª edición de ECOZINE, personas físicas o jurídicas vinculadas con las películas presentadas en las Secciones Competitivas
4.3- El Festival EcoZine puede crear secciones paralelas con películas que no han sido seleccionadas, cuando se consideran interesantes de proyectar durante la 17ª edición
5.1- Se constituirá un Jurado Oficial para elegir a los ganadores en la Sección Competitiva, y todas las decisiones serán definitivas. La Organización podrá invitar a otros organismos independientes y organizaciones / asociaciones a decidir cualesquiera de los premios otorgados.
5.2- El Jurado otorgará los siguientes premios
• Mejor Película Internacional
• Mejor Película Nacional
• Mejor cortometraje documental
• Mejor cortometraje de ficción
• Mejor cortometraje de animación
5.3-Se aplicará una deducción sobre el total del premio, de acuerdo con la Legislación Española en materia fiscal.
5.4-La organización de la 17ª edición de EcoZine otorga, además, los siguientes premios (premios no monetarios):
-Premio del Público Joven al mejor Cortometraje
-Premio del jurado al mejor corto realizado por escolares hasta 12 años
-Premio del jurado al mejor corto realizado por escolares mayores de 12 años
5.5-Podrán ser ofrecidos otros premios por instituciones y organizaciones nacionales e internacionales previamente aprobadas por la organización del Festival
6.1- Para la promoción del Festival, la Organización se reserva el derecho de exhibir un extracto de las películas seleccionadas gratuitas, en cine, televisión, Internet u otros medios públicos
6.2- Mientras se celebre el festival, la organización se reserva el derecho de mostrar las películas seleccionadas tantas veces como sea necesario. Según este punto, los productores concederán los derechos sin ningún cargo durante el Festival.
6.3- Después del Festival de Cine, EcoZine podrá utilizar las películas seleccionadas para programas culturales y ambientales, siempre con el permiso expreso de los propietarios.
6.4- Cualquier situación omitida en este reglamento será determinada por la 17ª edición de la organización de Ecozine, de acuerdo con los principios generales del derecho y los usos en concursos audiovisuales o festivales.
6.5-Este reglamento está en inglés y español. En caso de duda, se resolverá por la versión española.
