DOCUMENTALES - CORTOS - FOTOGRAFÍA - ILUSTRACIÓN – LIBROS - CIENCIA

La industria fotográfica, audiovisual y escrita, enfocada en nuestro mundo natural, transporta al público hacia los lugares más remotos, inhóspitos y amenazados del mundo, presentando especies y hábitats naturales, inalcanzables e inimaginables para la gran mayoría de personas.

Teniendo como base los peligros y amenazas que afectan a la biodiversidad del planeta y la pérdida de ecosistemas sin retorno, junto con la extinción de diversas especies en los últimos años, es que se crea este Concurso buscando reconocer y celebrar el esfuerzo y habilidad humana necesarias para narrar las historias de nuestra naturaleza, abarcando diversas ramas como la cinematografía, fotografía, ilustraciones, publicaciones de libros, estudios científicos, entre otros.

General

El Concurso es dirigido y presentado por Equilibrio Films con base en Chile y Jumara Films con base en Argentina buscando celebrar y premiar la excelencia en la elaboración de las artes relacionadas con la vida natural.

La fecha final para inscripciones es el 01 de agosto del 2020 23:59 pm EST y el anuncio de los finalistas se realizará el 31 de agosto del 2020. Así mismo la premiación oficial de la primera edición del Concurso se realizará el 15 de octubre de 2020 vía on-line debido a coyuntura mundial actual, producto de la pandemia del COVID-19.

Se aceptarán inscripciones de personas naturales, estaciones de televisión, productoras, editoriales, distribuidoras de cine o televisión y cineastas independientes de cualquier parte del mundo, quienes deberán acatar a cabalidad las bases del Concurso.

La inscripción y participación en la primera edición del Concurso es de manera gratuita, por lo cual no se cobrará ningún tipo de cuota o fee hasta el 1 de agosto. La fecha límite extendida se cobrará una pequeña tarifa por cada categoría.

NOTA: No hay limite de trabajos por participante para presentar en cada categoría.

Categorías / Requisitos / Términos y Condiciones

Audiovisual:

Cortometraje Inspirador

- Cortometraje enfocado en una creación más precisa de contenido relacionado a flora, fauna y/o su medio ambiente inspirando una apreciación o situación del mundo natural con un tiempo máximo de hasta 5 minutos.

Corto Documental

- Corto destacado en cinematografía, edición y narración a través de un enfoque documental con una duración mínima de 5 minutos a una máxima de 30 minutos sobre el mundo natural.

Documental

- Documental destacado en cinematografía, edición y narración a través de un enfoque descriptivo documental de más de 30 minutos sobre el mundo natural.

Requisitos – Audiovisual

- Participante mayor de 18 años al momento de presentar la aplicación.
- El enfoque central de la producción debe ser el mundo natural.
- Realización posterior al 1 de enero de 2018.
- La producción deberá ser presentada por el productor, distribuidor de la producción o su representante legal.
- Las producciones en idiomas que no sean español o inglés son aceptadas, pero deben ser subtituladas o dobladas al español o al inglés. En caso de ser nominado como finalista en su categoría, el participante deberá proporcionar una copia en alta calidad de la producción con doblaje o subtítulos en español y/o inglés.
- En caso de contar con patrocinio de diversas entidades para la realización de la producción, este puede ser reconocido en las copias enviadas para los premios, pero no se incluirán logos o nombres de patrocinadores que incorpore publicidad en pantalla.
- Se aceptarán producciones sin importar el tamaño del equipo de producción y presupuestos, en el Concurso.
- Todos los factores anteriores se tendrán en cuenta durante el proceso de evaluación.
Fotografía

- Fotografías enfocadas en narrar historias de flora, fauna y/o su medio ambiente inspirando una apreciación del mundo natural en una sola imagen.

Requisitos – Fotografía

- Participante mayor de 18 años al momento de presentar la aplicación.
- Se solicitará a los participantes los datos correspondientes a la imagen presentada, junto con el título de la fotografía y una sinopsis que respalde su presentación.
- La sinopsis debe describir claramente la originalidad, el propósito, las fortalezas y los logros de la imagen.
- La fotografía deberá ser presentada por el autor o su representante legal.
- En caso de presentarla un fotógrafo, este debe ser propietario de los derechos de autor.
- En caso de presentar fotografías a nombre de revistas, editoriales, libros o empresas productoras, deberán poseer los derechos de autor.
- La fotografía presentada deberá tener un aspecto del mundo natural como foco central.
- Haber sido realizada a partir del 1 de enero de 2018.
- No se aceptarán fotografías que retraten animales atraídos con cebos o en cautiverio, domesticados o explotados con fines de lucro, excepto si se hace con el propósito de informar sobre la explotación de animales por un tercero o un problema de bienestar.
- Se permiten ajustes digitales los que incluyen recorte, tono y contraste, nitidez, uniones, exposiciones múltiples.
- No se permite la eliminación de objetos, personas, vegetación, características de fondo o cualquier acción que altere el significado o el mensaje de la fotografía.
- Todos los factores anteriores se tendrán en cuenta durante el proceso de evaluación.
- NOTA: Se acepta SOLO UNA (1) fotografía por cada inscripción.

Ilustración Naturalista / Científica

A través de las distintas expresiones artísticas y científicas en todas sus variables, el enfoque principal deberá ser mostrar una realidad en particular del mundo natural.

Requisitos - Ilustración Naturalista / Científica

- Participante mayor de 18 años al momento de presentar la aplicación.
- Se solicitará a los participantes el título de la ilustración y una sinopsis que respalde su presentación.
- La sinopsis debe describir claramente la originalidad, el propósito, las fortalezas y los logros de la imagen.
- La ilustración deberá ser presentada por el autor o su representante legal.
- En caso de presentarla por un artista, este debe ser propietario de los derechos de autor.
- En caso de presentar una ilustración a nombre de revistas, editoriales, libros o empresas productoras deberán poseer los derechos de autor.
- La ilustración presentada deberá tener un aspecto del mundo natural como foco central.
- Haber sido realizada a partir del 1 de enero de 2018.
- Todos los factores anteriores se tendrán en cuenta durante el proceso de evaluación.
- NOTA: Se acepta SOLO UNA (1) ilustración por cada inscripción.

Libros
Categoría enfocada en la Producción, presentación, edición y/o escritura de libros impresos enfocados en el mundo natural, el cual podrá ser tanto de texto como fotográfico.

Requisitos - Libros

- Participante mayor de 18 años al momento de presentar la aplicación.
- El libro deberá ser presentado por el autor o su representante legal.
- En caso de presentarla por un escritor, este debe ser propietario de los derechos de autor.
- En caso de presentar un libro a nombre de revistas, editoriales o empresas productoras deberán poseer los derechos de autor.
- El libro presentado deberá tener un aspecto del mundo natural como foco central.
- El libro deberá ser presentado para evaluación en formato PFD
- Haber sido realizada a partir del 1 de enero de 2018.
- Todos los factores anteriores se tendrán en cuenta durante el proceso de evaluación.

Estudios Científicos

El enfoque principal de esta categoría es incentivar y brindar apoyo a estudios científicos en desarrollo o por iniciar.

Requisitos - Estudios Científicos

- Participante mayor de 18 años al momento de presentar la aplicación.
- Participante deberá poseer un grado académico técnico o universitario al momento de presentar la aplicación.
- El proyecto científico deberá ser presentado por el investigador responsable o su representante legal.
- Todo proyecto deberá́ contar con patrocinio de una Institución con personería jurídica
- El estudio científico presentado deberá estar dirigido al estudio del mundo natural como foco central.
- Haber sido realizada a partir del 1 de enero de 2018.
- Todos los factores anteriores se tendrán en cuenta durante el proceso de evaluación.

Premios

Cada producción o trabajo finalista recibirá un certificado de nominación, el cual será enviado al autor, institución o representante legal de cada proyecto.

Cada producción o trabajo nominado será exhibido como parte del programa y difusión de la primera edición del Concurso.

El autor, institución o representante legal de cada producción y/o trabajo ganador recibirá un trofeo original, un certificado de ganador y un premio en dinero efectivo.

Debido a que se entregará un certificado y un trofeo por proyecto ganador, en caso de requerir estatuillas adicionales y certificados para otros miembros del equipo, estarán disponibles bajo solicitud por un costo adicional, con la inscripción de la categoría correspondiente y el nombre del ganador en cada trofeo.

Premio Especial

Todos los ganadores serán evaluados por “el Jurado”, quien seleccionará entre ellos al ganador del premio especial, el cual consiste en un trofeo original, un certificado de ganador y un premio en dinero efectivo.

Inscripción / Términos y Condiciones

Las inscripciones y aplicaciones para las distintas categorías de la primera edición del Concurso se realizarán en la plataforma de filmfreeway.com/Concurso.

Todas las presentaciones deberán ir acompañadas de los siguientes anexos:

- Formulario de presentación en línea, incluyendo detalles de la producción, sinopsis, créditos.
- Detalles de contacto actuales del participante.
- Una copia de la producción o trabajo.

En caso de participar en más de una categoría los participantes deberán presentar cada aplicación de proyecto por separado con toda la documentación correspondiente.

El material presentado en las aplicaciones no será devuelto, a pesar de no calificar en las siguientes rondas del Concurso.

En caso de presentar aplicaciones incompletas, estas serán rechazadas automáticamente.

Todos los socios involucrados en una producción o trabajo deben estar detallados en el formulario de envío y es responsabilidad del participante notificar legalmente a todos las personas involucradas sobre la participación en el Concurso.

Al presentar la aplicación para el Concurso, el aplicante estará declarando que todas las personas involucradas han acordado y aceptado la inscripción de la producción, proyecto o trabajo, para el Concurso.

En caso de que varios socios presenten el mismo trabajo para el Concurso de forma separada, notificaremos a todas las partes involucradas, de modo que determinen quien será el representante legal para actuar como participante del Concurso bajo un documento legal escrito.

Al participar en el Concurso, debe asegurarse que las personas responsables estén debidamente acreditadas en el formulario de envío.

La fecha límite de inscripción para todas las categorías: 23:59 pm EST del 1 de agosto de 2020.

La aceptación de presentaciones tardías queda a criterio de los organizadores del Concurso.

En caso de ser finalista en alguna categoría audiovisual se requerirá material adicional de las producciones, tales como fotogramas promocionales, guion en inglés o español con código de tiempo, clip promocional, foto promocional para uso en redes sociales y diversas plataformas de medios.

En caso de ser finalista en las categorías de libros, estudios científicos / reportajes, ilustración naturalista / científica y fotografía los proyectos deberán ser enviados vía online y físicamente en caso sea requerido.

Se aceptarán inscripciones de personas naturales, estaciones de televisión, productoras, editoriales, instituciones, distribuidoras de cine o televisión y cineastas independientes de cualquier parte del mundo, quienes deberán acatar a cabalidad las bases del Concurso.

Envío de material adicional - Finalistas / Términos y Condiciones

Audiovisual

Se solicitará a los finalistas de las distintas categorías audiovisuales los diversos detalles de producción.

Los participantes deben presentar una breve introducción para cada uno de los proyectos enviados, que describa claramente las fortalezas y logros de su producción.

Las producciones audiovisuales finalistas deberán presentarse en una versión de alta calidad para subirlo a FilmFreeway, o proporcionar un enlace Vimeo o YouTube, Al momento de crear un proyecto en FilmFreeway, usted será dirigido a su página de proyecto donde podrá cargar fácilmente su archivo de proyecto (máximo 10 GB) o vincular su video a través de Vimeo o YouTube. Para ver una página de proyecto, vaya a mis proyectos en el menú principal, luego haga clic en ver junto al proyecto correspondiente.

FilmFreeway acepta todos los formatos de video más importantes en HD de alta calidad de hasta 10 GB.

Nosotros transcodificamos videos para compatibilidad y rendimiento de reproducción y recomendamos que use configuraciones cercanas a nuestras configuraciones de salida:
- Bitrate de video máxima: 2200 Kbps, H.264, mp4.
- Audio: 128 Kbps, AAC, estéreo de 2 canales.
- Relación de aspecto preservada; altura máxima de video de 1080 píxeles.

Fotografía

Se solicitará a los finalistas para la premiación final, los datos adicionales correspondientes a la imagen presentada y una sinopsis que respalde su presentación.

La sinopsis debe describir claramente la originalidad, el propósito, las fortalezas y los logros de la imagen.

Las imágenes deben enviarse como archivos JPEG (1920 píxeles de largo) en Adobe RGB (1998).

Se solicitará la presentación de la imagen en su formato original, sin ningún tipo de edición o revelado para la autentificación de la imagen presentada en el Concurso (Se deberá cambiar el nombre de los archivos en RAW al siguiente formato: “Image Raw number_ImageTitle.jpeg” donde aparece primero el número Raw original de la imagen, seguido del título de la imagen, por favor no coloque su nombre en el nombre del archivo).

Metadata Requerida:

- Título de la imagen.
- Subtitulo de la imagen.
- Información técnica (Cámara, lente y otros equipos).
- Los detalles EXIF deben mantenerse intactos (apertura, velocidad de obturación, ISO)
- Detalles de cualquier procesamiento posterior más allá de los perfiles de lente, temperatura de color, eliminación de manchas de polvo, saturación global y local y cambios de exposición, nitidez y recorte (como uniones o exposiciones múltiples).
- Ubicación

No debe incluir:

- Nombre del participante en el título del proyecto, en el título de la imagen o en la imagen misma.

Ilustración Naturalista / Científica

Se solicitará a los finalistas para la premiación final, datos adicionales, correspondientes a la ilustración presentada y una sinopsis que respalde su presentación.

La sinopsis debe describir claramente la originalidad, el propósito, las fortalezas y los logros de la ilustración.

Se solicitará la presentación de la imagen en formato JPEG (5120 píxeles de largo) en Adobe RGB (1998), sin ningún tipo de edición para la autentificación de la ilustración presentada en el Concurso (Se deberá cambiar el nombre de los archivos en RAW al siguiente formato: “Image Raw number_ImageTitle.jpeg” donde aparece primero el número Raw original de la imagen, seguido del título de la imagen, por favor no coloque su nombre en el nombre del archivo).

Libros

Se solicitará a los finalistas para la premiación final, los datos adicionales correspondientes al libro presentado y una sinopsis que respalde su presentación.

La sinopsis debe describir claramente la originalidad, el propósito, las fortalezas y los logros del libro.

De ser necesario se solicitará la presentación física del libro para su autentificación y para posterior exhibición en actividades relacionadas con el Concurso. (Ver sección “Uso del material enviado”)

Estudios Científicos

Los investigadores de proyectos deben cumplir con las normativas vigentes y los estándares que regulan la actividad científica.

El investigador responsable del proyecto seleccionado como finalista, deberá́ presentar los documentos y certificados que acrediten su capacitación académica y el respaldo de una entidad jurídica.

Uso del material enviado – Términos y Condiciones

Evaluación del Concurso: Se les solicitará a los participantes que hayan presentado trabajos y que hayan sido nominados para un premio, que proporcionen copias de evaluación de alta calidad para que el jurado realice la decisión final, dichas copias se conservarán en nuestro archivo, quedando a nuestra discreción su uso para motivos promocionales del Concurso.

El Concurso se reserva el derecho a declarar nula las categorías que no cuenten con trabajos con un nivel técnico y de calidad acorde con los estándares de este tipo de proyectos.

Concurso: Se aceptarán variedades de formatos de proyección, contactando a cada participante seleccionado para discutir los formatos específicos a utilizar.

Ningún trabajo que haya sido aceptado podrá ser retirado por el participante después de la publicación del programa del Concurso.

La programación y el cronograma de las evaluaciones serán realizadas a discreción de los distintos jurados.

Promociones: Buscaremos promover el Concurso presentando extractos de los trabajos en periódicos, radio, televisión y otras plataformas de medios audiovisuales, incluidos, entre otros, la web a nivel mundial y redes sociales.

Tendremos derecho a usar extractos de todas las producciones enviadas para tales promociones sin costo, siempre que dichos extractos no excedan los 2 minutos de música presentada o 3 minutos de duración en total (con respecto a cualquier producción individual).

Filmaciones: Los participantes reconocen y autorizan al Concurso el derecho al uso de todas las imágenes y proyectos presentados para fines promocionales a nivel mundial en todos los medios seleccionados, incluidas redes sociales, sin el requisito de acreditar dicha producción u otras partes involucradas. Sin tener la obligación de realizar pagos por el uso de dicho material.

Fotografías: Los participantes reconocen y autorizan al Concurso el derecho al uso de todas las imágenes y proyectos presentados para fines promocionales a nivel mundial en todos los medios seleccionados, incluidas redes sociales. Sin la obligación de realizar pagos por el uso de dicho material.

Edición: El Concurso se reserva el derecho de editar la información y trabajos suministrados por los participantes para su uso en materiales publicitarios y materiales promocionales.

Publicidad: El Concurso tiene la libertad o no de contactar a los participantes cuyas presentaciones hayan sido seleccionadas como finalistas o ganadoras en alguna de las diversas categorías del Concurso para requerir su apoyo en la promoción del Concurso y la publicidad con respecto al mismo.

Biblioteca: Todos los proyectos inscritos serán retenidos permanentemente por el Concurso con fines educativos, promocionales y de archivo.

El Concurso tiene derecho a hacer que las producciones estén disponibles para ser vistas en bibliotecas de películas en línea (antes, durante y después del Concurso por un período de hasta 12 meses después de finalizado el Concurso) y para la reproducción en circuito cerrado a periodistas, miembros del público en general y otros invitados a participar en el Concurso.

El Concurso no pagará royalties o impuestos a los participantes.

Proyecciones fuera del Concurso: El Concurso tiene derecho a exhibir las producciones y trabajos al público en general en eventos sin fines de lucro durante y después de finalizado el Concurso por tiempo ilimitado. Estas proyecciones serán utilizadas para promover el objetivo caritativo de la competencia la cual es inspirar al público en general a experimentar, sentirse parte del mundo natural y protegerlo.

Los organizadores del Concurso se reservan el derecho de cobrar una tarifa de ingreso a la audiencia general en diversos eventos donde se realizarán proyecciones de trabajos finalistas y ganadores del Concurso para cubrir los costos de alquiler de dichos espacios y personal de ayuda en dichos eventos. Los participantes reconocen y aceptan que no tienen derecho a ningún tipo de pago respecto a las condiciones previamente mencionadas.

Obligaciones

- Al presentar una producción, fotografía, libro, dibujo o investigación científica al Concurso, los organizadores asumen que cada participante cuenta con toda la documentación legal correspondiente junto con las acreditaciones necesarias vigentes, eximiendo al Concurso de cualquier responsabilidad legal, daños o perjuicios a terceros.

- El Concurso asume que el participante ha obtenido todas las autorizaciones legales necesarias con respecto a su trabajo en relación con material, fotografía, música, actuaciones, guiones y obras subyacentes incorporadas en dicho proyecto.

- El Concurso asume que el participante tiene toda la autoridad legal necesaria para realizar dicha presentación en conformidad con todas las partes involucradas, cumpliendo con todos los términos y condiciones estipulados.

- En el caso de cualquier disputa relacionada con créditos o derechos de autor con respecto a un proyecto, el Concurso se reserva el derecho de rechazar la presentación con respecto a dicho trabajo o retener cualquier nominación o premio con respecto al mismo hasta que se resuelva la disputa de manera legal.

- En caso de ocasionar daños y perjuicios al Concurso por parte del participante, este indemnizará y eximirá de responsabilidad al Concurso, sus jueces, patrocinadores y socios, de y contra todos los reclamos, demandas, pérdidas, daños, costos, responsabilidades y gastos, incluidos los gastos legales en los que se puedan incurrir.

- Cada participante reconoce y acepta que pueden surgir circunstancias que están más allá del control razonable del Concurso, obligando a los organizadores del Concurso a cancelarlo y/o suspenderlo, aceptando y reconociendo que el Concurso no tendrá obligación de pagar reembolsos de materiales enviados o diversas tarifas e impuestos.

- En caso de participar o ser parte del personal contratado por empresas terceras en actividades como exposiciones, charlas u otros bajo la organización del Concurso, el Concurso se exime de toda responsabilidad legal o monetaria producida por muerte o lesiones personales, bajo el concepto de negligencia de terceros, debido a que se realizara el alquiler de sitios para exposiciones y conferencias entre otros, junto con la contratación del personal.

- En caso de incumplimiento de contrato o agravio por parte del Concurso, este se reserva la obligación de indemnizar a los participantes, puesto que la inscripción o participación en el Concurso es completamente gratuita.

Bases para la evaluación de la producción de documentales, cortos y cortos inspiracionales:

- Se realizarán dos rondas de evaluación.

- Todas las inscripciones recibidas antes de la fecha límite, serán revisadas por un jurado seleccionador y los proyectos considerados como los mejores en cada categoría serán nominadas como finalistas y presentados para su consideración al jurado final.

- Todos los participantes recibirán una notificación del resultado del proceso de evaluación por parte del jurado en la primavera de 2020, previo al anuncio público sobre los proyectos finalistas.

- Todas las categorías audiovisuales finalistas serán revisadas por el jurado final, el cual seleccionará al ganador de cada categoría junto a la producción que será escogida como ganadora general del Concurso.

- Los ganadores serán anunciados en octubre de 2020.

- El jurado seleccionador como el jurado final incluirán profesionales de la industria provenientes de diversos países, disciplinas, edades, géneros y experiencia, contando con una historia de logros en su campo.

- Los miembros de ambos jurados están seleccionados directamente por la organización del Concurso.

- Las decisiones de nominación y adjudicación son tomadas por los miembros del jurado seleccionador y el jurado final en absoluta discreción y bajo una total imparcialidad.

- Todos los proyectos recibidos antes de la fecha límite de inscripción serán revisadas de forma remota por el jurado, quienes seleccionarán a los finalistas y ganadores del Concurso en cada una de sus categorías.

Bases para la evaluación de fotografía:

- Se realizarán dos rondas de evaluación.

- El jurado seleccionador como el jurado final incluirán profesionales de la industria provenientes de diversos países, disciplinas, edades, géneros y experiencia, contando con una historia de logros en su campo.

- Los miembros de ambos jurados están seleccionados directamente por la organización del Concurso.

- Los jueces buscarán fotografías originales e inéditas con una narrativa clara y fuerte exigiendo la más alta calidad técnica.

- Todos los proyectos recibidos antes de la fecha límite de inscripción serán revisadas de forma remota por el jurado, quienes seleccionarán a los finalistas y ganadores del Concurso en cada una de sus categorías.

- No se proporcionarán comentarios individuales y no se darán a conocer las razones de elegibilidad de los participantes por motivos de confidencialidad.

Bases para la evaluación de Ilustración Naturalista / Científica:

- Se realizarán dos rondas de evaluación.

- El jurado seleccionador como el jurado final incluirán profesionales de la industria provenientes de diversos países, disciplinas, edades, géneros y experiencia, contando con una historia de logros en su campo.

- Los miembros de ambos jurados están seleccionados directamente por la organización del Concurso.

- Los jueces buscarán ilustraciones originales e inéditas con una narrativa clara y fuerte exigiendo la más alta calidad técnica.

- No se proporcionarán comentarios individuales y no se darán a conocer las razones de elegibilidad de los participantes por motivos de confidencialidad.

- Todos los proyectos recibidos antes de la fecha límite de inscripción serán revisadas de forma remota por el jurado, quienes seleccionarán a los finalistas y ganadores del Concurso en cada una de sus categorías.

Bases para la evaluación de Libros:

- Se realizarán dos rondas de evaluación.

- El jurado seleccionador como el jurado final incluirán profesionales de la industria provenientes de diversos países, disciplinas, edades, géneros y experiencia, contando con una historia de logros en su campo.

- Los miembros de ambos jurados están seleccionados directamente por la organización del Concurso.

- Los jueces buscarán libros originales e inéditos con una narrativa clara y fuerte exigiendo la más alta calidad técnica.

- No se proporcionarán comentarios individuales y no se darán a conocer las razones de elegibilidad de los participantes por motivos de confidencialidad.

- Todos los proyectos recibidos antes de la fecha límite de inscripción serán revisadas de forma remota por el jurado, quienes seleccionarán a los finalistas y ganadores del Concurso en cada una de sus categorías.

Bases para la evaluación de Estudios Científicos / Reportajes:

- Se realizarán dos rondas de evaluación.

- El jurado seleccionador como el jurado final incluirán profesionales de la industria provenientes de diversos países, disciplinas, edades, géneros y experiencia, contando con una historia de logros en su campo.

GUIDELINES AND RULES (English)

DOCUMENTARY – DOCUMENTARY SHORT - PHOTOGRAPHY - ILLUSTRATION - BOOKS - SCIENCE

The photographic, audiovisual, and written industry, focused on our natural world, transports the public to the most remote, inhospitable, and threatened places in the world, presenting natural species and habitats, unattainable and unimaginable to the vast majority of people.

Based on the dangers and threats affecting the biodiversity of the planet and the loss of non-return ecosystems, along with the extinction of various species in recent years, this Contest is created seeking to recognize and celebrate the human effort and skillS necessary to tell the stories of our nature, covering various branches such as cinematography, photography, illustrations, book publications, scientific studies, among others.

General

The Competition is directed and presented by Equilibrio Films based in Chile and Jumara Films based in Argentina seeking to celebrate and reward excellence in the elaboration of the arts related to natural life.

The final date for registrations is August 01, 2020 23:59 pm EST and the announcement of the finalists will be made on August 31, 2020. Likewise, the official award of the first edition of the Competition will be held on October 15, 2020 via on-line due to the current global juncture, product of the pandemic of COVID-19.

Registrations of individuals, television stations, producers, publishers, film or television distributors and independent filmmakers from anywhere in the world will be accepted, who must fully abide by the rules or guidelines of the Competition.

Registration and participation in the first edition of the Contest is free of charge, so no fee will be charged until August 1st. Extended Deadline will be charged a small fee for each category.

NOTE: There is no limit of works per participant to present in each category.

Categories / Requirements / Terms and Conditions

Audiovisual:

Inspiring Short Film

- Short film focused on a more precise creation of content related to flora, fauna and / or its environment inspiring an appreciationor situation of the natural world with a maximum time of up to 5 minutes.

Documentary Short

- Short highlighted in cinematographic, edition and narration through a documentary approach with a minimum duration of 5 minutes to a maximum of 30 minutes about the natural world.

Documentary

- Featured documentary in cinematography, editing and storytelling through a descriptive documentary approach of more than 30 minutes about the natural world.

Requirements - Audiovisual

- Participant over the age of 18 at the time of filing the application.
- The central focus of production must be the natural world.
- Performing after January 1, 2018.
- Production must be resented by the producer, production distributor or its legal representative.
- Productions in languages other than Spanish or English are accepted but must be subtitled or dubbed into the Spanish or English language. If nominated as a finalist in its category, the participant must provide a high-quality copy of the production with dubbing or subtitles in Spanish and/or English.
- In case of sponsorship of various entities for the realization of the production, it can be recognized in the copies sent for the prizes but will not include logos or names of sponsors incorporating advertising on screen.
- Productions will be accepted regardless of the size of the production equipmentand budgets, in the Contest.
- All above factors will be considered during the evaluation process.

Photography

- Photographs focused on storytelling stories of flora, fauna and/or their environment inspiring an appreciation of the natural world in a single image.

Requirements - Photography

- Participant over the age of 18 at the time of filing the application.
- Participants will be asked for the data corresponding to the image presented, together with the title of the photograph and a shot synopsis that supports their presentation.
- The synopsis must clearly describe the originality, the purpose, the strengths, and the achievements of the image.
- The photograph must be submitted by the author or his legal representative.
- In case of being presented by a photographer, the photographer must own the copyright.
- If you submit photographs in the name of magazines, publishers, books, or production companies, must own the copyright.
- The photograph presented should have an aspect of the natural world as a central focus.
- Have been completed from January 1, 2018.
- Photographs of animals attracted with baits or in captivity, domesticated or exploited for profit, shall not be accepted, except if it is done with the proporsite to report on the exploitation of animals by a third party or welfare problem.
- Digital adjustments are allowed including clipping, tone and contrast, sharpness, joints, multiple exposures.
- The deletion of objects, people, vegetation, background characteristics or any action that, character alters the meaning or message of the photograph is not permitted.
- All the above factors will be considered during the evaluation process.
- NOTE: ONLY ONE (1) photograph is accepted for each registration.

Naturalist / Scientific Illustration

Through the different artistic and scientific expressions in all their variables, the focus should be to show a reality of the natural world.

Requirements – Naturalistic / Scientific Illustration

- Participant over the age of 18 at the time of filing the application.
- Participants will be asked to refer to the illustration and a synopsis to support their submission.
- The synopsis must clearly describe the originality, the purpose, the strengths, and the achievements of the image.
- The illustration must be submitted by the author or his legal representative.
- If presented by an artist, the artist must own the copyright.
- If an illustration is submitted in the name of magazines, publishers, books, or production companies, they must own the copyright.
- The illustration presented should have an aspect of the natural world as a central focus.
- Have been completed from January 1, 2018.
- All the above factors will be considered during the evaluation process.
- NOTE: ONLY ONE (1) illustration is accepted for each registration.

Books

Category focused on the production, presentation, editing and / or writing of printed books focused on the natural world, which can be both text and photographic.

Requirements - Books

- Participant over the age of 18 at the time of filing the application.
- The book must be submitted by the author or his legal representative.
- If submitted by a writer, the writer must own the copyright.
- In case of submitting a book in the name of magazines, publishers, or production companies, they must own the copyright.
- The book presented should have an aspect of the natural world as a central focus.
- The book should be submitted for evaluation in PFD format
- Have been completed from January 1, 2018.
- All the above factors will be considered during the evaluation process.

Scientific Studies

The focus of this category is to encourage, and support developing or initiated scientific studies.

Requirements - Scientific Studies

- Participant over the age of 18 at the time of filing the application.
- Participant must have a technical or university academic degree at the time of submitting the application.
- The scientific project must be submitted by the main investigator or his legal representative.
- Every project must be sponsored by an institution with legal status.
- The scientific study presented should be aimed at the study of the natural world as a central focus.
- Have been completed from January 1, 2018.
- All the above factors will be considered during the evaluation process.

Awards

Each production or finalist work will receive a certificate of nomination, which will be sent to the author, institution, or legal representative of each project.

Each nominated production or work will be exhibited as part of the program and publicity of the first edition of the Contest.

The author, institution or legal representative of each production and/or winning work will receive an original trophy, a winner's certificate, and a cash prize.

Because a certificate and trophy will be awarded per winning project, if additional statuettes and certificates are required for other team members, they will be available upon request for an additional cost, with the registration of the relevant category and the winner's name on each trophy.
Special Award

All winners will be evaluated by "the Jury", who will select from each other the winner of the special prize, which consists of an original trophy, a winner's certificate, and a cash prize.

Enrollment / Terms and Conditions

Registrations and applications for the different categories of the first edition of the Contest will be made on the filmfreeway.com/Contest platform.

All submissions must be accompanied by the following annexes:

- Online filing form, including details of the production, synopsis, credits.
- Current contact details of the participant.
- A copy of the production or work.

If more than one category is to participate, participants must submit each project application separately with all relevant documentation.

Material presented in the applications will not be returned, despite not qualifying in the following rounds of the Contest.

If you submit incomplete applications, they will be automatically rejected.

All partners involved in a production or work must be detailed in the form. It is the participant's responsibility to legally notify all persons involved about participation in the Contest.

By submitting the application for the Contest, the applicant will be declaring that all persons involved have agreed and accepted the registration of the production, project or work, for the Contest.

In the event that multiple partners submit the same work for the Contest separately, we will notify all parties involved, so that they determine who will be the legal representative to act as a contest participant under a written legal document.

By entering the Contest, you must ensure that the persons responsible are duly accredited on the submission form.
The registration deadline for all categories: 23:59 pm EST on August 1, 2020.
The acceptance of late presentations is at the discretion of the organizers of the Contest.

If you are a finalist in any audiovisual category, additional material from the productions, such as promotional frames, script in English or Spanish with time video, promotional clip, promotional photo for use on social networks and various media platforms will be required.

If you are a finalist in the categories of books, scientific studies / reports, naturalistic / scientific illustration, and photography the projects must be sent online and physically if required.

Registrations of natural persons, television stations, producers, publishers, institutions, film or television distributors and independent filmmakers from anywhere in the world will be accepted, who must fully abide by the basis of the Competition.

Registration and participation in the first edition of the Contest is free of charge, so no fee will be charged until August 1st. Extended Deadline will be charged a small fee for each category.

Sending additional material - Finalists / Terms and Conditions

Audiovisual

The finalists of the different audiovisual categories will be asked for the various details of production.

Participants should submit a brief introduction for each of the projects submitted, clearly describing the strengths and achievements of their production.

Finalist audiovisual productions must be presented in a high quality version to upload it to FilmFreeway, or provide a Vimeo or YouTube link. When creating a project on FilmFreeway, you will be directed to your project page where you can easily upload your project file (maximum 10 GB) or link your video through Vimeo or YouTube. To see a project page, go to my projects in the main menu then click View next to the corresponding project.

FilmFreeway accepts all the most important hd video formats of high quality up to 10 GB.

We transcode videos for playback compatibility and performance and recommend that you use settings close to our output settings:

- Video bitrate maximum: 2200 Kbps, H.264, mp4.
- Audio: 128 Kbps, AAC, 2-channel stereo.
- Preserved aspect ratio; Maximum video height of 1080 pixels.

Photography

The finalists will be requested for the final award, the additional data corresponding to the image presented and a synopsis that supports their presentation.

The synopsis must clearly describe the originality, the purpose, the strengths, and the achievements of the image.

Images must be sent as JPEG files (1920 pixels long) in Adobe RGB (1998).

The presentation of the image in its original format, without any editing or revealed for the authentication of the image presented in the Contest (You must change the name of the RAW files to the following format: "Image Raw number_ImageTitle.jpeg" where the original Raw number of the image appears first, followed by the image title. Please do not place your name in the file name.

Required Metadata:

- Image title.
- Image caption.
- Technical information (Camera, lenses, and other equipment).
- EXIF details must be kept intact (opening, shutter speed, ISO)
- Details of any subsequent processing more all of the lens profiles, color temperature, elimination of dust stains, global and local saturation and changes of exposure, sharpness and trimming (such as joints or multiple exposures).
- Location

You must not include:

- Name of the participant in the project title, in the image title or in the image itself.

Naturalist / Scientific Illustration

The finalists will be asked for the final award, additional data, corresponding to the illustration presented and a synopsis that supports their presentation.

The synopsis must clearly describe the originality, the purpose, the strengths, and the achievements of the illustration.

The display of the image in JPEG format (5120 pixels long) will be requested in Adobe RGB (1998), without any editing for the authentication of the artwork presented in the Contest (The RAW files must be renamed to the following format: "Image Raw number_ImageTitle.jpeg" where the original Raw number of the image appears first, followed by the image title, please do not place your name in the file name).

Books

The finalists will be asked for the final award, the additional data corresponding to the book presented and a synopsis that supports their submission.

The synopsis must clearly describe the originality, the purpose, the strengths, and the achievements of the book.

If necessary, the physical presentation of the book will be requested for authentication and for further display in activities related to the Contest. (See section "Using submitted material")

Scientific Studies

Project researchers must comply with current regulations and standards governing scientific activity.

The researcher responsible for the project selected as a finalist must present the documents and certificates attesting to his academic training and the support of a legal entity.

Use of submitted material - Terms and Conditions

Evaluation of the Competition: The members who have submitted works and who have been nominated for an award, will be asked to provide copies of high quality for evaluation on the final decision, such copies will be kept in our archive, being at our discretion their use for promotional reasons of the Contest..

The Competition reserves the right to declare void categories that do not have work with a technical and quality level according to the standards of this type of projects.

Contest:

Varieties of projection formats will be accepted, contacting each selected participant to discuss the specific formats to use.

No work that has been accepted may be withdrawn by the entrant after the publication of the Contest program.

The scheduling and schedule of the evaluations will be carried out at the discretion of the different juries.

Promotions:

We will seek to promote the Contest by presenting samples from the works in newspapers, radio, television, and other audiovisual media platforms, including, among others, the worldwide website, and social networks.

We shall be entitled to use excerpts from all productions submitted for such promotions at no cost, provided that such extracts do not exceed 2 minutes of music presented or 3 minutes in total duration (with respect to any individual production).

Images:

Participants acknowledge and authorize the Competition the right to use all images and projects submitted to the Content for promotional purposes worldwide in all selected media, including social networks, without the requirement to credit such production or other parties involved. Without being required to make payments for the use of such material.

Photographs:

Participants acknowledge and authorize the Competition the right to use all images and projects submitted to the Content for purposes worldwide in all selected media, including social networks. Without the obligation to make payments for the use of such material.

Edition:

The Competition reserves the right to edit the information and works provided by the participants for use in advertising materials and promotional materials.

Advertising:

The Competition is free or not to contact participants whose submissions have been selected as finalists or winners in one of the various categories of the Contest to require their support in the promotion of the Contest and advertising with respect to it.

Library:

All enrolled projects will be permanently retained by the Competition for educational, promotional, and archival purposes.

The Competition has the right to make the productions available to be viewed in online film libraries (before, during and after the Contest for a period of up to 12 months after the conclusion of the Contest) and for the reproduction in closed circuit to journalists, members of the general public and other guests to participate in the Contest..

The Contest will not pay royalties or taxes to participants.

Screenings outside the Competition:

The Competition has the right to display productions and works in general at non-profit events during and after the end of the Contest for an unlimited time. These projections will be used to promote the charitable objective of competition, which is to inspire the public to experiment, feel part of the natural world and protect it.

The organizers of the Contest reserve the right to charge a general audience entry fee at various events where projections of finalist works and Contest winners will be held to cover the rental costs of such spaces and support staff at such events. Participants acknowledge and agree that they are not entitled to any type of payment in respect of the above conditions.

Obligations

- By submitting a production, photograph, book, ilustration or scientific research to the Competition, the organizers assume that each participant has all the corresponding legal documentation together with the necessary accreditations in force, exempting the Contest from any legal liability, damages or damages to third parties.

- The Competition assumes that the participant has obtained all the necessary legal authorizations with respect to his work in relation to material, photographs, performances, scripts and underlying works incorporated in said project.

- The Competition assumes that the participant has all the legal authority necessary to make such presenting in accordance with all parties involved, complying with all stipulated terms and conditions.

- In the event of any dispute relating to credits or copyright with respect to a project, the Competition reserves the right to refuse the submission with respect to such work or retain any nomination or award with respect to it until the dispute is resolved in a legal manner.

- In the event of damages to the Competition by the Entrant, the Entrant shall indemnify and hold harmless the Contest, its judges, sponsors and partners, from and against all claims, claims, losses, damages, costs, liabilities and expenses, including any legal expenses that may be incurred.

- Two rounds of evaluation will be carryout.

- All registrations received before the deadline will be reviewed by a selection jury and projects considered to be the best in each category will be nominated as finalists and submitted for consideration to the final jury.

- All participants will be notified of the outcome of the evaluation process by the jury in the spring of 2020, prior to the public announcement about the finalist projects.

- All finalist audiovisual categories will be reviewed by the final jury, which will select the winner of each category along with the production that will be chosen as the general winner of the Contest.

- The winners will be announced in October 2020.

- The selection jury as the final jury includes industry professionals from various countries, disciplines, ages, genders, and experience, with a history of achievements in their field.

- The members of both juries are directly selected by the organization of the Contest.

- Nomination and award decisions are made by the members of the selection jury and the final jury in absolute discretion and under complete impartiality.
