The magic and the spirit of Christmas is: the family, the beautiful tree, the gifts, the meals with the turkey, the children by the fireplace waiting for Santa Claus, but it’s also the must-see Christmas movies.
Wonderful, kitsch, curious, fun, romantic, gourmet… every year, Christmas films revisit the holiday season in their own way. Short films, feature films, they are many every year to delight our screens, bringing a new spirit to the eternal theme of Christmas.
For all these good reasons we wanted to create Ciné Noël (Chistmas Movies) our first Christmas Film Festival
Why in Locronan - In a french country in Britany ?
Locronan small medieval town of character, classified as the most beautiful village in France, is well known for its 17th century houses and its neo-Gothic church, because of that this village was the location of more than 30 films and series, notable as «Tess», «Chouans» or «A long engagement Sunday». Here are good reasons to organize a film festival. But, in Locronan, we also know how to celebrate Christmas. Thus, from the first week of December until January 3, at nightfall, the village becomes a city of lights, a true village of Santa Claus. The places become magical and are surveyed by more than 200,000 visitors. In this warm, friendly atmosphere, you feel like in a Noë film festival.

Each year we will award two audience awards for feature film and an audience award for a short film

Rules & Terms

This festival is reserved for feature films and short fiction films that talk about the theme of Christmas, snow, or winter holidays.

Ciné Noël shows films in these sections: 
Short Film and medium Length Film
Feature Film
In this two Film section the audience is voting for their favorite movie. The two winner will receive a price.

The films will be shown in their original version. International contributions should have French subtitles or English subtitles. In this case you must send them with a SRT file with the english subtitle.

The participants declare that they have all the necessary rights to screen their submitted movie. They assure that no third parties are infringed by screening their movie. That includes copyrights and performance rights.

Ciné Noël will take place in Locronan (France) from 12/17 to 12/18/2022. The festival reserves the right to change the date.

The selected films will be screened only once during the Ciné Noël festival. The winning short film will be screened a second time at the end of the festival. Ciné Noël is not able to pay a screening fee for films that are submitted.

The participants handle the cost for sending the DVD to the festival. Ciné Noël covers the cost for returning the screening copies.

Free of charge Ciné Noël is allowed to publish basic movie information, film stills, links to trailer and film segments up to 20 seconds, for print materials, website, social media channels, festival trailer, TV reports and other analog and digital media. Ciné Noël is allowed to pass on the materials to third parties only in the context of public relations.

The team directors festival reserves the right to permit exceptions in special and justified cases.
