Cinema no Estendal/Cinema on the Washing Line is a cinema for the streets and public spaces. We celebrate washing lines, neighbourhood life, short films, art, music, occupying of public spaces and the neighbours' underwear.

Throughout the warmer months of the year, short films and music videos are projected on a washing line somewhere within the neighbourhoods of Lisbon and of other cities and towns around Portugal.

We want you to send us your work IF:

- you have made a film, a video OR any type of moving image piece;
- it’s your original work and you have the right to present it;
- it’s under 15 minutes;
- you would like to screen it on our Estendal / Washing line

    Had the privilege to screen at "Cinema on the Washing Line" this year. It's a thoughtfully run, community-centred festival
    that screens international and local short films in public spaces across Portugal. The outdoor settings create a welcoming, accessible atmosphere and give the program a distinctive character. A great opportunity for filmmakers looking to reach engaged audiences in a unique setting. Highly recommended.

    I really enjoyed taking part in this edition of 'Cinema on the Washing'. The team was very attentive and the selection of films was both interesting and eclectic. Having the screenings outdoors and evoking the washingline makes the exhibition very original and gives it a unique spirit. The community around this event is also very special and socially aware. I even ended up networking thanks to the selection of my film
