Cinema no Estendal/ Cinema on the Washing Line is a cinema for the streets of Lisbon, in its 3rd year and 6th edition. We celebrate the stairs, the washing lines, the neighbourhood life, the art and the underwear of the neighbours.

At the beginning of summer, short films and videos will be projected on a washing line somewhere within the small neighbourhoods of Lisbon.

We want you to send us your work IF:

- you have made a film, a video OR any type of moving image piece;
- it’s your original work and you have the right to present it;
- it’s under 20 minutes;
- you would like to screen it on our Estendal / Washing line

Important Information:

Only projects submitted on FilmFreeway are considered.

Films not in English language must have English subtitles (Portuguese if possible but not mandatory)

No premiere requirements, films may already be available online.

You will be required to provide a HD .MOV or .MP4 of the selected film/video.

  • Cinema no Estendal ("on the washing line") is a fantastic and unique initiative to bring cinema to the most unexpected places and traditional neighborhoods in Lisbon (so far).

    When open air cinema comes to you (and not the other way around), with a well cared for curation of engaging documentaries, experimental narratives, fiction shorts and music videos.
