Cinemaking International Film Festival

They really didn’t communicate and create networking opportunities.

I would like to thank FilmFreeway for the support and helping me so quickly with my problem. We have withdrawn from the festival. So it is not a problem any more.

I leave the rest just for producers to read and understand.

CimaKing: Thank you very much for your response to my review. I did not want to write it, which is why I sent you multiple communications, starting on January 13th, without receiving any answers. I still have not received the email you are referring to.

I work in audiovisual production and cultural policy, and I check my email every five minutes.

First and foremost, I want to apologize for my review. I know it does not reflect a civilized, Anglo-Saxon tone. However, I am glad to finally receive a response.

I am sorry that you do not find my review professional. But professionalism, in my opinion, means that a festival should at least provide information about the event, even if only once. Professionalism also means sharing a schedule, even in a general way, and informing filmmakers when and how their films will be screened or broadcast. I have read all the comments, and I strongly recommend that you review your administrative organization.

I sincerely regret the situation. I made every effort in my communications to prevent this outcome. I will be happy to delete or revise my review if I ever receive the email you intend to send.

Once again, I apologize for my harsh words, and I am willing to retract them entirely if I get just a basic, easy and standard communication of what happened in your event, any little information is the only think I asked since we where selected some months ago.

Here is my original review, which I am also open to correcting and apologizing for if anyone can prove to me it is false what I wrote:

I don’t believe this is a real festival—at least, not the festival they claim to be. I am starting to think it is a scam and a fraud.

Perhaps they do something for local filmmakers just to collect submission fees from the rest of us without providing anything in return. I have waited a long time, yet there is no sign of the festival—no information, no award list. I find it very suspicious that FilmFreeway supports a non-existent festival. I don’t think this is legitimate, and I will not pay any more fees until FilmFreeway provides clarification.

I understand that this issue originates from the festival itself, but shouldn’t FilmFreeway protect us from irregular festivals?

I am not the only one experiencing this, and this is not the first time I have tried. I know the festival is to blame, but FilmFreeway should also protect its users.

If you have experienced a similar situation, please contact me. I believe we should file a formal collective complaint against Cinemaking; otherwise, many more people will fall into the same trap.

FilmFreeway, something must be done.
