Characters Drive Stories is a short screenplay, stage play, teleplay, and radio play table read series presented by the Blue Whiskey Independent Film Festival (BWiFF). Selected scripts will be featured in a filmed series where actors bring the writer's characters to life in a table read setting. Each episode will conclude with a round table discussion about the writer's work.

*Awards are presented annually on the first Sunday in March (beginning in 2025).

Characters Drive Stories does not enforce any category subject restrictions. Scripts can be of any style or genre. Each submission is carefully considered solely on its own merit. Due to the volume of entries, Characters Drive Stories is unable to provide feedback on submissions not selected for the table read series.

SUBMISSION TERMS & CONDITIONS
Entrants must agree to all Submission Terms and Conditions, which also includes deadline and entry material requirements. Please read all Submission Terms and Conditions in their entirety as submission fees are non-refundable.

I. All submissions are required to be submitted through FilmFreeway in Portable Document Format (PDF). Material should be submitted in standard screenplay, stage play, teleplay, or radio play formats, including font size, style, spacing, and margins.

II. All submissions must be in English, or contain English translation.

III. A paid entry fee is required for each submission. BWiFF does not consider requests for entry fee waivers.

IV. By submitting, the Entrant grants BWiFF non-exclusive permission to showcase a reading of the entire script in the 2024 Characters Drive Stories table read series.

V. Submissions must not be restricted by any obligation to, or option held by, any third party. BWiFF is not responsible for any infringement claims, including but not limited to, credit, copyrights, and/or trademarks.

VI. Entrants indemnify and hold harmless BWiFF from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees and costs of the court), which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, or exhibition.

VII. Entrant should not submit their film if there is a known possibility of withdrawal. BWiFF does not provide refunds to entrants without FilmFreeway Submission Protection and no refunds will be provided beyond five (5) days after submitting.

VIII. All of the above submission eligibility guidelines and general rules are subject to change by BWiFF without notice.
