The 13th edition of the Catania Film Fest will take place from November 13-17, 2024 in Catania, Sicily, South Italy.

Catania Film Fest aims to be a meeting place for young directors - Italian and foreign - of the European and of the Mediterranean independent film and, from the thirteenth edition, also for the cinematography of the Nations that overlook the Mare Nostrum in original language and Italian subtitles. The Festival brings together, in a single breath, culture, meetings, music, environment and art in all its forms, starting of course with cinema.

The Official Selection is divided into three competitive sections:

- Catania Film Euro Mediterranean13: Euro Mediterranea Competition open to independent feature films and documentaries. Each film will Represent a Member States.

- Catania Short-Film Euro Mediterranean 13: Euro Mediterranea Competition open to short films.

- Catania Film Italiana 13: Competition open to independent Italian feature films and documentaries.

Euro Mediterranea competition open to independent feature films and documentaries and short films, completed after January 1, 2023, almost unreleased or in any case very little distributed.

Euro Mediterranean and Italian Independent Film and Short-Film, almost unreleased or in any case very little distributed.

Submitting parties must send otherwise at their own expense one digital file or Blu-ray Disk in original version with English subtitles for official and press screenings, including Italian-spoken movies).
Costs of English and Italian subtitles are in any case borne by right-holders. In case of selection, the direction of Catania Film Fest will provide a subtitles office.

Submission deadline: September 20th, 2024

    One of the best festival in Italy, set in the amazing Sicily.
    Staff is really friendly, great audience, good vibes, shorts and features that are mostly invisible, and again you can watch talks and concerts or go for a walk to the beach.

    This is definitely one of the best festivals I've ever been. I attended the Catania Film Festival on several occasions, having both shorts and/or features in the official selection in different editions, and I always had a wonderful time there. The organizers are very professional, friendly and super nice. The communication is fantastic, the vibe is amazing and there is always a great audience attending the screenings. Made great connections and I honestly can't recommend this festival enough!

    Il CFF ci ha ospitati e trattati con grande disponibilità e gentilezza, oltre che con attenzione e premura per la nostra opera prima. Il livello dell'organizzazione è alto, così come la varietà delle proposte sia cinematografiche sia di intrattenimento. Queste ultime distolgono (finalmente) un po' l'attenzione dalla mera professionalità e quindi offrono agli ospiti una preziosa dimensione più naturale, rilassata, in cui è possibile condividere del tempo di qualità fra esseri umani prima che fra professionisti. Questo è importante perché lo rende un festival in cui le connessioni che si creano non sono una questione d'immagine, ma sono più profonde. Si percepisce verità e si riesce a stringere legami significativi. Ho apprezzato molto la direzione del festival e l'umanità che il direttore e i suoi colleghi dimostrano. Da tornarci anche solo come spettatore l'anno prossimo!
