  • I had the honor of having my music video, "The Letting Go", selected for the festival.

Dear Natalie! Thank you so much! Music videos are welcome! See you at next edition with new works! Happy New Year!

  • Mary Lou Belli

Although I did not attend, I was thrilled that the composers for my film, who live in Brazil could attend! Prior to the fest, my communication with Joao was warm, specific, and enthusiastic. Composers Max and Lucas Drux wrote: "The venue was fantastic, Day 1 was at the modern art museum in downtown Rio. America ran at a beautiful catholic university called Santa Urszula in the burgeoning Botafogo district and the audience was definitely engaged in the story- there was a palpable buzz in the room when the explosion went off into the credits. It was very well received.
In terms of the curation, there was definitely a noticeable theme, with a number of dark and polemical films tackling issues like race, gender identity, xenophobia, technological dependence , mortality, etc."
Thanks so much to Brazil Cinefest for such a wonderful experience. I have already recommended this festival to colleagues!

    Response from festival:

Dear Mary, You´re very kind! We received your review with great joy and we were very grateful at all. It was a difficult edition without sponsorships and we worked very hard to make it happen. The greatest gift was the audience who congratulated selection of films and indicated the festival for friends, a good press coverage and the sicerely recognition of all who participated. It is these things that give us the energy and joys to do better and accept all the challenges and to show our great art of the cinema to everyone. Thank you so much and be welcome always.
