Beyond the screenings, they thoughtfully organized activities that made our time in Bogura even more enjoyable. 🎭 The selection of films was of outstanding quality, reflecting the festival’s dedication to showcasing meaningful and diverse storytelling. 🎥✨

International guests, in particular, were received with warmth and generosity, making the experience even more special. 🤝💖 I highly recommend BIFF25 not only for its excellent film curation but also for its exceptional hospitality.

The 5th Bogura International Film Festival (BIFF) in 2025 marked a significant milestone in celebrating global independent cinema. Organized by the Pundranagar Film Society in Bogura, Bangladesh, this annual event has grown remarkably over its five-year history, attracting approximately 10,000 attendees and showcasing a diverse selection of 90 films from an impressive pool of 5,000 submissions.

BIFF's mission to encourage youth and independent filmmakers was evident in its carefully curated program, which included full-length features, short films, documentaries, and animated films worldwide. The festival's commitment to promoting the study and appreciation of cinema as an art form was showcased through various screenings and events.

A highlight of this year's festival was awarding the Best Documentary prize to "The Taste of Honey." This recognition underscores BIFF's dedication to honoring exceptional storytelling and cinematic excellence. As one of the directors of that film, we are so proud. The festival's venues, including the Zilla Shilpakala Academy and Modhuban Cineplex, provided accessible and comfortable settings for attendees, fostering a sense of community among filmmakers and audiences alike. The organizers' efforts to create an inclusive platform for diverse voices in cinema have solidified BIFF's reputation as a significant cultural event in the region.

The 5th Bogura International Film Festival successfully celebrated the richness of independent filmmaking, offering a platform for emerging talents and established artists to connect with appreciative audiences. The festival's growth and continued commitment to cinematic arts make it a noteworthy event on the international film festival circuit. A good number of international participants joined the festival in person, making it more global and diverse.

Unfortunately we were not able to attend, I'm happy to say that this did not stop the communications with the festival, they required several times if we thought that it would be possible. We appreciated their website display of selected films, their facebook page with video messages including the screening of the festival prize giving awards. Altogether a professional event and important to participate in, especially for the youth, we filmmakers have a lot to share and film festivals give us the window to do so. Many thanks and keep up that hard work, we sincerely hope to visit Bangladesh one day !
