Storyteller from Damascus
Beshr Idlbi is an award winning filmmaker and storyteller from Damascus, Syria, with a BA in Film from Istanbul Şehir University and currently doing his MA in Journalism at Doha Institute for Graduate Studies.
Beshr has been experimenting with different forms of storytelling from an early age, writing short stories, poetry, wall drawing, and most recently his focus has been on combining different forms of art together, like animation, installation art, performance, and filmmaking.
His films have been selected in multiple international film festivals, and have won multiple awards:
The 1st Prize at Le MUP Film Festival for his short film "Khadija"
Honorable Mention at Genç Öncüler Short Film Competition for his short documentary “Save the Rest”
The 1st Prize at Yeşilay International Short Film Competition for his short film “Where Were You?”
