BE GREEN is a film festival dedicated to environment, sustainability and the new generations, which involves young people in all the stages of development of the event, from conception to organization, up to the final realization.

The festival aims to raise awareness among young people and public opinion on environmental issues through a film festival that combines the screening of films, meetings with VIPs and workshops, creating connections between institutions, schools and businesses.

Born in Crispiano, in province of Taranto - one of the most polluted cities of the South Italy - the festival explores the enviroment issues in all its meanings. Themes of this second edition are the ones included in the 2023 Agenda: social and economic sustaniability, gender equality, the decreasing of inequalities, the virtouos practicies for an armonic relationship between man and nature, with a privileged attention to the future generations. 'Be green' is therefore not only a title but a mission. 'Being green' is the only choice we have and which we want to share with future generations.

IL BE GREEN è un festival cinematografico dedicato all’ambiente, alla sostenibilità e alle nuove generazioni, che coinvolge i giovani in tutte le fasi di sviluppo, dalla ideazione all’organizzazione, fino alla realizzazione finale.

Ideato e diretto da Gaetano Colella e Andrea Simonetti, entrambi sceneggiatori e attori, il festival si prefigge di sensibilizzare i giovani e l’opinione pubblica sulle tematiche ambientali attraverso una kermesse cinematografica che intreccia la visione di film, incontri con personaggi illustri e workshop, creando connessioni fra istituzioni, scuole e imprese.

Nato a Crispiano, in provincia di Taranto – una delle province più sofferenti dal punto di vista ambientale -, il festival esplora il tema del ‘green’ in tutte le sue accezioni. Partendo dall’ambiente, che è stato tema cardine della prima edizione avvenuta a novembre 2022, il festival si prefigge lo scopo di abbracciare, nel corso delle sue edizioni, le tematiche inerenti la sostenibilità, sia sociale che economica, le pratiche virtuose per lo sviluppo armonico dell’uomo con la natura, con uno sguardo privilegiato alle generazioni future. Il tutto in sintonia con quanto dettato dall’Agenda 2030. ‘Be green’ è quindi non solo un titolo ma una mission, ‘essere green’ è l’unica scelta che abbiamo e che vogliamo condividere con le future generazioni.

Rules & Terms

The official Festival registration form must be completed online on the FilmFreeway website.

The participation is open to national and international film works produced ater January 1 , 2021 dealing with the subjects of the 2023 Agenda, the plan written by the ONU for sustaniability. In particular, will be admitted works dealing with the following subjects:

- Poverty and starvation
- Gender equality
- The decreasing of inequalities;
- The fight against climate change
- Sustainable energy, cities and communities
- The protection of the earth and marine ecosystem

The sortmovies must have a lenght included between 5 and 20 min

1. SECTIONS OF THE COMPETITION

The festival is divided in two sections:
* Animated Short Movies – for animated short movies of lenght between 5 and 20 min. The competition is open to every category of animated movies: traditional, 2d digital, mix media and stop motion, 3d and visual effects, music videos, experimental.
* Fiction Short Movies – for fiction short movies of lenght between 5 and 20 min

The Festival Management will select the films admitted to the 2nd edition of the Be Green Film Festival at its sole discretion.

Two giuries will evaluate the selected movies:
- the Official giury, composed by 200 students selected in schools in
Crispiano (TA) and Ceglie Messapica (Br), cities where the Festival will be hosted.
- The Technical Giury composed by cinema experts

The selected movies will be announced within October 15, 2023.
International movies must have English subtitles.

2. TRASLATIONS
Foreign films will be screened in their original version with Italian subtitles. It is the duty of the selected directors to provide subtitles in Italian.
All Festival documents will be published on the begreenfilmfestival.it website

3. HOSPITALITY
The Festival will encourage the participation of filmmakers and other guests (journalists, professionals, film festival representatives).

4. ACCEPTANCE
By submitting to the Festival, Directors and Producers accept all the rules of this competition notice. The Producers, while remainig for all intents and purposes copyrights holders, allow the Festival to projects the movies for free, during the days of the Be Green Festival 2023. Furthermore, the directors allow the free use of some scenes of their movies (for a maximum leght of 3 minutes) for promotion purposes. Producers and Directors, by participating at this competition notice, declare to hold the rights of the music, non original videoclips contained in the shortmovie. Armamaxa declines every responsability in terms of the eventual violation of any kind of copyright or forms of release of selected movies or their authors. Producers and Directors authorize the treatments of their personal data according to the law
675/96 (Legge sulla Privacy) and following modifications D. Igs. 196/2003 (Codice Privacy), in order to put them in databases managed by the subjects mentioned above.

5. AGREEMENT
The enrollment application estabilishes inconditional acceptance of all this competition notice.
The artistic directorship of the Be Green Film Festival reserves the right to make unquestionable decisions about matters unspecified in these rules

Il modulo di registrazione ufficiale del Festival deve essere compilato online sul sito web di FilmFreeway.


La partecipazione è aperta ad opere nazionali e internazionali prodotti dopo il 1° gennaio 2021, che affrontino le tematiche dell’Agenda 2030, il piano redatto dall’ONU per lo sviluppo sostenibile. In particolare sono ammesse opere che trattino tematiche inerenti:

La fame e la povertà;
La parità di genere;
La riduzione delle disuguaglianze;
La lotta al cambiamento climatico;
Le città e comunità sostenibili, energia pulita;
La protezione e dell’ecosistema terrestre e marino;

1. SEZIONI DI CONCORSO

Due sono le sezioni di concorso previste nella prima edizione del Festival.
* Animation Short Movies 
Cortometraggi di genere animazione dalla durata compresa fra i 5 e i 20 minuti
* Fiction Short Movies 
Cortometraggi di finzione dalla durata compresa fra i 5 e i 20 minuti

La Direzione del Festival selezionerà a suo insindacabile giudizio i film ammessi alla 2a edizione del Be Green Film Festival.

Per valutare le opere in concorso saranno composte due giurie:
- Una Giuria Tecnica composta da esperti in ambito cinematografico
- Una Giuria Giovani composta da circa 200 studenti scelti in accordo con gli Istituti Scolastici di Crispiano (TA) e Ceglie Messapica (Br), sede degli eventi.

Gli autori ammessi ai concorsi saranno informati entro il 15 ottobre 2023.

2. TRADUZIONI
I film stranieri saranno proiettati in versione originale con sottotitoli in italiano. E' dovere dei registi selezionati fornire i sottotitoli in lingua italiana.

3. OSPITALITA'
Il Festival incoraggerà la partecipazione di registi e altri ospiti (giornalisti, professionisti, rappresentanti del festival cinematografico).

4. ACCETTAZIONE
Iscrivendosi al Festival, Autori e Produttori accettano tutte le regole del presente bando. Gli Autori e i Produttori, pur rimanendo a tutti gli effetti pienamente titolari dei diritti sulle proprie opere, concedono all'organizzazione del Festival il diritto di proiettare gratuitamente i propri film, nell'ambito di Be Green Film Festival 2023. Inoltre, gli Autori autorizzano all’uso gratuito di estratti dell’opera per una durata massima di 3 minuti per la diffusione a scopi promozionali. Autori e Produttori, partecipando a tale concorso, dichiarano di essere in possesso dei diritti d'uso delle musiche o dei videoclip non originali presenti nel film. "Armamaxa" declina ogni responsabilità in merito alla violazione di eventuali diritti o forme di liberatoria da parte né delle opere selezionate né dei loro autori. Inoltre Autori e Produttori autorizzano "Armamaxa" al trattamento dei propri dati personali ai sensi della Legge 675/96 (Legge sulla Privacy) e successive modifiche D. Igs. 196/2003 (Codice Privacy), anche per inserirli in banche dati gestite dai soggetti sopra richiamati.

5. ACCORDO
La domanda di iscrizione al Festival costituisce adesione incondizionata a tutto il presente regolamento. La direzione artistica del Be Green film festival si riserva il diritto di prendere decisioni in maniera insindacabile su questioni non specificate nel regolamento.
