Arturo M. Merelo
Arturo M. Merelo is a film director, producer, professor, playwright, and distributor originally from Spain who has made his career in Mexico.
His short films have been selected in over 100 festivals around the world, including Guanajuato and Oaxaca (Mexico), Key West and Sunscreen (Florida), Santander (Colombia), Fringe Festival Edinburgh (Scotland), Perth Independent Latino (Australia), and the European Cinematography Awards, and have won several awards.
Arturo holds a Masters in Communications/Cinema from Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca and has studied film directing, screenwriting and distribution with Mexican filmmakers Amat Escalante and Gibrán Portela.
He has managed and staged his original works at the Microteatro in San Miguel de Allende and taught directing, narrative filmmaking, and world cinema history at the Universidad Descartes of Chiapas (affiliated with UNAM).
He is developing now his first fiction feature and a documentary.
