Miskatonic Horror Short Film Slam – Hamburg

The legendary horror short film slam is back – now hosted at the Miskatonic Theater, right in the heart of Hamburg’s trendiest neighborhood: the Sternschanze.

What we're looking for:
Short films that are fully committed to horror – whether bloody, psychological, supernatural or surreal: as long as it’s horror, we want it.
Please do not submit dramas, comedies or music videos, even if they’re “kind of dark.” We love many genres – but this is a horror slam.

We love short films. But please respect the horror-only rule.

Location:
Miskatonic Theater – Schulterblatt 73, Hamburg, Germany
Central location. Packed house. Pure horror.

Bonus:
If you're based in Hamburg (or nearby), we’d love for you to join the screening and meet the audience in person!

The Concept:
A curated selection of horror shorts will be screened at two special nights at the Miskatonic Theater – hosted, hyped, and dissected live on stage.
At the end of the night, the audience will decide the winner by popular vote (aka loudest applause).

The winning film receives a digital winner’s laurel, an official certificate, and a recommandation in our instagram feed.

1. There will be regularly festival-type screenings at antikyno in Hamburg, Germany.

2. Submissions are accepted only via FilmFreeway.

Please don't re-submit a project that was part of the official selection of a previous edition of the festival.

For Submission purposes your film may be in any language. However, if not in German, the film must have either English or German subtitles.

3. All films are viewed by the organisers, a team of international filmmakers working in the film industry.

All decisions are final and feedback for individual films is not available.

4. For screening at the festival, the filmmakers must provide their films as a high-quality video file (.avi, .mpeg, etc).
