ANITIME 2025 Competition Rules
1. About the Festival
ANITIME – Animation Festival is held in collaboration with the Israeli animation community.
The festival is dedicated to the development of auteur animation in Israel and the creation of a cultural dialogue.
The competition provides a space for new ideas, meetings between audiences and creators, and interaction between native Israelis and new immigrants.
2. Competition Goals
Showcase the best animated films of recent years.
Support young authors and students.
Build connections between Israeli and international filmmakers.
Promote animation as a universal language that unites people.
3. Organization
The project is organized with the support of the “In the Suitcase” festival of contemporary culture and literature and with the support of the non-profit organization “The Walks”, which helps immigrant teenagers adapt in Israel.
Program Director is responsible for the curatorial selection and program development.
Producer oversees the organization of the competition.
Jury determines the winners.
4. Timeline
Submission period: August 26 – November 5, 2025
Notification of participants: November 7, 2025
Festival date: November 20, 2025
5. Competition Categories
Israeli Competition:
- Best Israeli Animated Film
- Jury Prize
- Best Student Film
International Competition:
- Best International Animated Film
✨ An additional ANITIME Special Prize may also be awarded.
6. Participation Requirements
Only animated films are accepted (classical animation, stop-motion, CGI, and other techniques).
AI usage is allowed if the author made a significant creative contribution.
Films must be created after January 1, 2021 and be completed.
Runtime: up to 35 minutes.
Participants must hold all rights to music, visuals, and content.
Films containing hate speech, discriminatory, or pornographic content will not be accepted.
7. Submission Guidelines
Submissions are accepted via FilmFreeway and via Google form (for Israeli films only).
Each submission must include:
Synopsis (up to 100 words)
Director’s biography (up to 50 words)
Film copy in .mp4 format
English subtitles (for Israeli films, Hebrew subtitles are also required)
Three still images from the film
Trailer or clip for promotional purposes (optional)
The final film copy must be submitted at least 7 days before the screening.
8. Selection and Screening
The Selection Committee forms the festival program.
All selected films receive Official Selection status.
Winners are determined by an independent jury.
Films may be screened up to 4 times during the festival and at additional events.
9. Rights to Materials
By submitting a film, participants grant permission for the use of posters, trailers, stills, and film descriptions for festival promotion.
10. Fees
International submissions via FilmFreeway require a registration fee.
Israeli films may submit for free.
Fees are non-refundable, including in cases of festival cancellation or postponement.
11. Final Terms
Submission of a film constitutes agreement with these rules.
Organizers reserve the right to modify regulations and dates.
