We would like to invite you to submit it to the 38th edition of the ALPINALE Short Film Festival. It will take place in August 2023 in the Alpine town of Bludenz in Vorarlberg/Austria.

The ALPINALE, now in its 37th year, is an internationally renowned annual short film festival. It takes place in Bludenz during the second week of August. We choose from around 1000 submissions 70 of these movies for our festival.

- Animated Short Film
- Audience Award
- Children Audience Award
- Bloody Unicorn for the best horror short film

Rules & Terms

- Subtitles in English or German are necessary. The subtitles have to be burnt in the movie file, no separate SRT files please!
- We accept only films which have been produced in the last two years.
- ALPINALE does not pay any fees for the selection or nomination and the screening of films.
- We will use excerpts and film stills of the nominated short films within the context of the festival, its external events and its promotion.

By submitting your film(s) to the ALPINALE Short Film Festival, you authorize us to process the data you have entered for the purpose of organizing the activities of the ALPINALE Short Film Festival. The submitted material remains with ALPINALE and can be used for advertising purposes or similar. This consent constitutes the legal basis for the processing of your data (Art. 6 para. 1a, European Data Protection Regulation). Your data will only be kept for as long as is necessary for the above-mentioned purposes and will not be passed on to third parties.

    I'm grateful to have my film selected to the ALPINALE short film festivel, and so happy I could attend!

    The festival is located in the beautiful town of Bludenz, Austria, which is really breathtaking. The screenings consist of a large collection of short films from all around the world, in multiple genres and techniques, all in a very high artistic level.

    Watching films in this scenery is a very unique experience.

    The hospitality was wonderful, very thoughtful, and we met a lot of nice people.

    I'd like to thank the ALPINALE team for the opportunity to be a part of the festival, and hope to be back in the future.
