Africa Environmental Film Festival (AEFF)
The Africa Environmental Film Festival (AEFF) is an international film festival dedicated to environmental storytelling that connects science, filmmaking, and communities.
AEFF provides a platform for filmmakers, scientists, researchers, and storytellers to explore the most pressing environmental challenges of our time — including climate change, biodiversity loss, land restoration, ocean conservation, and the relationship between people and nature.
The festival aims to strengthen science-based storytelling, ensuring that environmental narratives are informed by credible research while remaining powerful and accessible to global audiences.

We accept films of any genre that explore themes of the natural and built environment, as well as the social and cultural realities shaped by ecological changes. We particularly welcome films that highlight threats to our planet’s ecosystems, including endangered species and biodiversity loss, climate change, pollution (air, noise, and light), and the depletion of natural resources. Additionally, we seek works that serve an educational or advocacy purpose, raising awareness about clean air, water, and land, as well as the role of alternative and renewable energy sources in creating a sustainable future. While premieres are highly encouraged, they are not required.
