ZIFFA aims to showcase the Ziguinchor region through a pan-African and international
artistic program, highlighting cultural diversity, youth creativity, and the potential of
southern Senegal in cultural and creative industries.
The festival’s guiding theme will be “Women in Focus”, an invitation to highlight women’s
stories, voices, journeys, and talents through cinema and visual arts. This theme explores
female representation on and off screen, celebrates inspiring female figures, and
questions persistent inequalities in the film industry and society.
Special attention will be given to youth, with dedicated programming including a 12-day
stop-motion workshop, storytelling sessions, and special screenings.
Before the official opening, there will be twelve days of intensive workshops open to
professionals and youth.
