Ying, a native of Taiwan, embarked on a journey that led her to Australia in 2010. Growing up in Taichung City, she completed her bachelor's degree in nursing in 2003. However, her passion for performance ignited in 2004, setting her on a path that spanned six transformative years. During this time, she ventured to numerous countries, including China, Hong Kong, Japan, the USA, and Singapore, collaborating with diverse groups of performers. These experiences profoundly influenced her perspective, fostering the development of her independent personality.
In 2015, Ying pursued studies in English at South Metropolitan TAFE WA, followed by the completion of the UNI Preparation course at Edith Cowan University in 2019. Concurrently, she enrolled in a short-term acting course at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts School, honing her performance skills. In 2020, Ying discovered her passion for screen production at ECU. Throughout her university journey, she specialized in producing and directing, culminating in the creation of two independent film projects.
Collaborating with the Chung Wah Association in Perth, Ying produced two impactful short documentaries: "Sisters- We Are Family" and "Chinese Pioneers" in 2022. These projects garnered accolades, including the Best Documentary Shorts at the World Film Carnival-Singapore, the Best Australian Documentary at the Sydney Indie Short Festival, and the Best International Documentary Short at both the Hong Kong Indie Film Festival and the Shanghai International Short Week.
Ying's ultimate aspiration lies in crafting works that seamlessly blend Western and Eastern cultures, showcasing their diversity and presenting them to the global stage. With a keen eye on the international market, she aims to make a significant impact through her creations.
