X World Short Film Festival is a Festival for Independent Filmmakers from all over the World, that dare to eXpress their fantasy, creativity and crazy ideas through Films.

If your Short Film produces one or more of the following reactions (in alphabetical order):

...and if you think that your Film will make the audience feel amazed-excited-thrilled-amused, then this Festival is for you!

We especially love exciting and amazing stories, fun intrigues, new themes, unusual points of view, mysteries!
Our purpose is to find, showcase, promote and award such kind of interesting works, made with passion for the art of eXpression, no matter the budget or the technical resources.

Every submitted Film will be really watched with dedication, to fully respect and honor your art and work.

During the two-days Live Event (December 28-29) in the cozy and beautiful "Teatro degli Eroi di Roma" in Rome, all the Finalist works will be screened and the Artists will have the opportunity to know each other.
There will be many Films screened because they will have the opportunity to be nominated in many categories!
That's why we only accept Short Films up to 20 min: we want to showcase your exciting works as many as possible! There will be more than 12 hours of screening...

PLEASE, BEFORE SUBMITTING, READ CAREFULLY THE RULES AND HOW IT WORKS WITH SELECTIONS, SCREENING, TICKETS, AWARDS AND PRIZES.

Awards & Prizes

All submitted films will have a welcome post on the Festival Social Media.
All selected Films will receive the Official Selection Laurel and will have a permanent space in the Festival's Website (with the Trailer or the whole Film, according to your preference).

-if you submit in the categories Short Short, Short, Short Documentary, Music Video, Trailer, Long Trailer, your work will compete only in the categories you entered, but can be considered also in Director excellence, Actress - Actor performance and Poster competition.

THE FINALIST PROJECTS WILL BE SCREENED AT THE LIVE EVENTS.

Every Finalist Submitter has 2 FREE TICKETS for the Screening and Awards Celebration Events (valid for both days).
For those who are coming, it's necessary to send an email with the names of people attending, to receive the codes.

Rules & Terms

We accept all genres Short Shorts (up to 10 min), Shorts (10-20 min), Music Videos, Short Documentaries (up to 20 min), Trailers (up to 3 min), long Trailers (3-10min) and submissions for Actress/Actor performance and Director excellence.

Works must have been realized after 2009.

All the works must be original and the submitter has the responsibility to own the rights of every aspect of the Film.

Films that are not in English need English subtitles.

We love alternative, unconventional ideas and expression, but VIOLENCE, GROSSNESS AND SEX ARE NOT WELCOME! Also, this is NOT A SPACE FOR POLITICAL EXPOSURE AND FIGHTS.

If you are a Finalist, your Film will be screened in the Live Events in Rome (Italy) and you'll receive all the information about the material to send.

Please don't write to ask to submit for free. The affordable submission fees are for the Theatre, the Live Events, SIAE taxes, the Prizes and other necessary expenses.
Occasionally you can find discount codes on Social Media (Twitter and Facebook)!

Also, this is an Independent Festival self-sustained at this first year, so (like most of the Festivals), can't pay travels and accommodations for Filmmakers coming from all over the World.
However, on the Website there is a list of suggested places to stay and places to eat, that accepted to offer discounts for the Festival attendees.
