Dear filmmakers, over the past few months we have received from you a huge number of applications for participation in the Film Festival.

BUT 90% of ALL THESE APPLICATIONS DON'T MEET THE REQUIREMENTS of the THEME of OUR FESTIVAL. (BECAUSE ONLY THE FILMS ABOUT PEOPLE WITH THE HEARING IMPAIRMENTS , FOR THOSE FILMS THAT ARE DIRECTLY or INDIRECTLY RELATED to the WORLD of DEAF PEOPLE, or FILMS CREATED by a CREATIVE TEAM THAT INCLUDES PEOPLE WITH HEARING DISABILITIES, the DEAF PEOPLE AND MOVIES in the SIGN LANGUAGE WITH ENGLISH or RUSSIAN SUBTITLE ARE ACCEPTED in the COMPETITION PROGRAM of the FESTIVAL).
Therefore, by decision of the organizing committee of the film festival, it was decided to postpone the date of the film event to the beginning of autumn this year.
Specifically, on Май 24-25, 2024.
Please keep a close eye on the changes in the acceptance of applications and the schedule of our Film Festival.

APPLICATIONS FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE FILM FESTIVAL WILL CONTINUE UNTIL April 30, 2024

The World Through Silence Film Festival is held to raise public awareness of the problems faced by many Deaf and Hard of Hearing members of our society, people with disabilities, with the aim of showing films in sign language and with subtitles on the big screen.
And also, with the help of cinematography, to help most of the people around us to see and discover their rich creative potential and the diversity of their lives.

The festival also aims to provide people with hearing disabilities with good examples and opportunities for an active life.

Russian and foreign feature films, documentaries, children's films and social advertising videos that touch on the problems of deaf people, as well as works filmed by people with disabilities and with their direct participation, are invited to participate in the film festival.
The World Through Silence Film Festival is an annual event focusing on international independent cinema. Its purpose is to show outstanding independent films, films involved disability people and also in ASL , BSL RSL and other World Sign Language for recognize and support the new Deaf and Hearing Impaired filmmakers and to enhance awareness and understanding of cinematography as art among diverse audiences.
Our latest festival was a great success, there were great films, interesting communication and lots of press coverage! It was really great celebration and we are looking forward to our next edition!
We guarantee that film professionals will view all submitted films. We encourage filmmakers who created their films with a low or high budget to enter their films to The World Through Silence.
We genuinely are Independent!

Убедительная просьба обратить внимание на теметику данного кинофетиваля.
В конкурсную прогрвмму "фестиваля Мир сквозь тишину" принимаються заявки только на те фильмы, которые имееют прямое или косвенное отношение к миру неслышащих людей, или кино работы созданные творческим коллективом, в который входят люди с ограниченными возможностями по слуху.
А также все фильмы на любом Жестовом языке Мира с английскими или русскими субтитрами.
Большое спасибо за выбор нашего кинофестиваля.

Кинофестиваль «Мир сквозь тишину» проводится с целью привлечь внимание общественности к проблемам, с которыми сталкиваются многие глухие и слабослышащие члены нашего общества, люди с ограниченными возможностями, с целью показа на большом экране фильмов на жестовом языке и с субтитрами.
А также, с помощью средств кинематографа помочь большинству окружающих из нас людей увидеть и раскрыть их богатый творческий потенциал и разнообразие их жизни .
Фестиваль также направлен на то, чтобы показать людям с ограниченными возможностями по слуху наглядные примеры и возможности для активной жизни.
К участию в кинофестивале приглашаются российские и зарубежные художественные, документальные, детские фильмы и видеоролики социальной рекламы, затрагивающие проблемы неслышащих людей, а также работы, снятые людьми с ограниченными возможностями и с их непосредственным участием.
