I would like to share a factual account of my experience with the World London Film Festival for the benefit of other filmmakers.

My film was selected for the November edition of the festival. During the event, filmmakers were informed that a printed festival magazine featuring the selected works would be distributed. At the screening, we were told the magazine was not yet available because printing had not been completed, and that copies would be sent afterward.

After the festival, I sent several emails requesting basic follow-up information and asking about the magazine. For a long period there was no response. Only after I posted a review on FilmFreeway did the organizers begin replying, assuring me the magazine would be mailed once they returned to London.

It is now mid-February, several months after the November festival, and I still have not received the magazine or any concrete proof of its printing or shipment. Despite repeated assurances that it would be sent “soon,” no tracking information or documentation has been provided.

Clear and consistent communication is a minimal professional standard in festival-filmmaker relations. I strongly encourage future participants to request written confirmation and verifiable details regarding publications, awards, and promotional materials associated with the festival before committing to participation.

    Response from festival:

    Dear Dora,
Thank you for sharing your experience.

We would like to clarify a few points regarding the festival magazine mentioned during the event. The magazine does indeed exist and was produced as part of the festival materials. However, due to a delay in the printing process, it unfortunately did not arrive in time for distribution on the screening night.

During our communication after the festival, you asked whether the copy could be sent to Belgrade. At that time, members of our team who manage shipping and materials were not in London due to an ongoing film production schedule. For this reason, we explained that the magazine would be sent once the team returned from the shoot.

We always aim to support filmmakers and maintain open communication, and we appreciate the patience of participants while our small independent team manages festival operations.

Thank you again for being part of the festival. We were very happy to screen your work at Curzon Victoria and to have you join the Q&A with the audience.

    Best regards,
    World London Film Festival Team

I'm so proud to have my rock-and-roll sex-comedy feature screenplay "Kill Me, Too" accepted by World London Film Festival! The promotion my script will receive from World London will bring it closer to production. I will be sure to submit more films and screenplays to future editions of this groundbreaking festival!
