This festival was very communicative with the notifications and other information, but did not mention anywhere that they require DCPs that they get made for you and it costs almost $200 to use the company they require for DCPs if you want your film to screen. They offer a very small discount but still require it and if you don't get the DCP your film is cut from the screening.
We were honored to be selected! But that information should be made clear on the submission form to be considered before selecting to submit to them.

It was great to have our film Culicidae screened at the festival. Unfortunately we couldn’t be there in person but it looks like everyone had a great time. Very friendly and good communication. Would recommend submitting.

It was an honor having my film "Nightcap" included in the inaugural Winter Park Film Festival. The festival was a blast, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and I got to meet some great people and see excellent films. I will definitely be submitting again next year!

Thank you Corey, it was a delight having you and your girlfriend attend the festival from Chicago. We can’t wait to see what the future has in store for you and your filmmaking. We hope to see you soon!

  • Great experience, communication, and people.
Passion from the organizers...it's what really separates film festivals from one another. This one had it and it translated to a great weekend in Winter Park.

It was nice meeting the organizers and some of the locals from Winter Park. Having some nice conversations and learning about the area.
We felt honored to receive the response to our film "Dreama Team". The organizers and audience were very engaged including the Q & A. It meant a lot to us that people watched the film and felt strongly about it.
I also enjoyed watching the other selections of curated films and the theater was nice and comfortable.

It was also cool to have some of the events spread out through town. Like the awards ceremony at a local restaurant. If you're going to have a film fest in a mountain town in Colorado...you my as well explore it right.

Thanks again. This was their first year and I expect the festival to continue to grow. I'd recommend to any other filmmakers.

  • Super impressed with their responsiveness and professionalism, especially given it was their first year. Couldn’t attend in person but the event looked great from afar and received amazing feedback. Will definitely be trying to attend the next!

Thank you Sam for your incredible film “Left Right”. We were blessed to be your premier run. What a film to get community of Winter Park fired up about ski season. You have friends in Colorado if you ever make your way out here, don’t be a stranger!
