Wholesome Film Festival is a DIY festival that aims to see a positive thinking space through cinema. We are looking for stories that promote a healthy future.

In this time of uncertainty, our main goal is to foster unique voices that can have a positive influence on complete strangers.

We want to share films that center on the wholesomeness that keeps us going--stories involving our friends, family, and communities. No irony. Just real feeling.

All accepted entries will receive laurels + personalized award for creating a wholesome film. The top three wholesome films will receive cash rewards for their dedication to making a more wholesome world through film making. These films will be selected by a jury of alumni filmmakers.

The Film should (ideally) be less than 15 minutes.

The Film must be wholesome or it will be rejected for not following the main principle of the festival. If you have a question about your film being a good fit, feel free to message/email.

If the Film is not in English, it must have subtitles.

In an era of diversity checkboxing, Wholesome's message is pure and to the point: If a film is going to leave a social impact, it must open people's hearts. EVERY film selected did exactly that. Cinema is first and foremost about emotions and empathy and this is a festival which selects films based on the strength of positive emotions. That's how real social change occurs. Wholesome is a social movement, a revolution leading by example of how film festivals should be promoting and inspiring unification at a time when the world needs this most. Only in its first year, Wholesome is in the vanguard for starting the real conversation about how to make the world a better place.

  • This festival was very fantastic and WHOLESOME! The organizer was very active in communicating with everyone. He was also very attentive when asking for materials for the festival ahead of time for preparation.

The Q&A had very thoughtful questions asked for us. I'm happy to have been asked deep questions regarding our reasons why we chose the stories we wanted to tell.

I'm excited to see the next line-up of wholesome films for next year! Can't wait to see this festival grow!
